I wrote about this book in another post but i want to make sure everyone knows about it. This book has helped me more than anything else. it's called "Fibromyalgia & chronic Myofascial Pain - a survival manual" It's written by two women doctors who have fibro. I have another great book but i loaned it to a friend and have'nt gotten it back yet.

This is too funny...I just reserved that book and another one by Dr. Devin Starlanyl from my library today. The books are titled Fibromyalgia and Chronic Myofascial Pain: A Survival Manual and The Fibromyalgia Advocate:getting the support you need to cope with fibromyalgia and myofascial pain. She also has a website which I haven't checked out yet, just saved the link, this is the address if anyone is interested: http://www.sover.net/~devstar/

It is so great to have found people who speak my language! Yea!

Thanks!

Karen

Thanks for the book suggestions, I have one also. "Living Well with CFS and Fibromyalgia" by Mary J. Shomon. I found it at the Library, it is full of excellent facts and advice. I recommend it!

hmmmmmm, isn't it strange that there are so many excellent books about a condition some doctors do not think exists?

I will try my library for that one. The books that saved me at the beginning of my battle were by Miryam Ehrlich Williams called The Fibromyalgia Relief Book and Fibromyalgia: a comprehensive approach. I found her on the internet and she had some treatments that got me started on the road to recovery, without doctor's(rheumatologist) help. I am disgusted with doctor's. One told me that I had somatoform pain. Another said, "why do you want to have fibromyalgia?" I showed him all the symptoms I had and said that they were in all the fibro books I read that was why I felt I had fibro, plus my mother has it. And he answered with,"well they aren't in my book and we don't feel it is hereditary".

If anyone wants to know what I have found to help me naturally let me know!

Hugs, Karen

I know Hipmama!

How could we imagine such a terrible condition in our heads! Reading is power, the internet is power, networking is power. Together we can figure it out!

Hugs, Karen
