Has anyone else tried Botox injections? I'm due for my fourth round next Friday. I'm not sure if my doctor gives it to me for the Fibro or the Cervical Dystonia (that's what he wrote on the RX). I get the shots in my upper back/lower neck area & it has helped alot with the zaps I get (Lhermitte's syndrome)? I think it also helps with the headaches. You can only get it every 3 months, I really need it now but I guess I'll have to wait till next Friday.

My pain management doctor is who does the injections.

Just curious.

Joanne

Hi,

I guess nobody has gotten Botox yet? I was able to get the doctor's office to squeeze me in today. My neck & the headaches have been so bad. I got 11 injections from cervical area & down. I came home & took 2 Darvocet & went to bed for a few hours. It takes a week or so to kick in.

I also got another steroid injection in my hip. I might have asked before,

does anybody else get the Bursitis real bad? Especially in their hip?

Joanne

P.S. It's Freezing here! Can't take it, it is suppose to go up to 60 though on Tuesday (another extreme temp change)

Hi libra, and welcome!

I've heard the botox was being tried on migrains and although I suffer from them no one has ever suggested it.

You sound like you have other things going on! It must be awful pain getting shots all down your back like that...good thing it's every 3 months, eh?

Well, I hope you keep typing on the forum. Sometimes you have to surf around on the other posts if know one responds to a new question. I think sometimes like me, we forget to go to the home page where different subjuects are being put on!!

This is a good place to be and hope we can learn as we go forward with this miserable illness!!

Type to you soon!

Hi Libra you must be new so I say welcome. I've been slipping in welcoming new people since I've been going through my own personal hell with a seperation and pending divorce because my husband can no longer deal with my sickness. I'm in a better place and want to go back to helpin others if I can. I too have burstis but mine is in my shoulder joints. It gets really painful especially in the cold and it's cold here in Ky. right now. I also have tendonits in my elbows and carpal tunnel in my right wrist and it's painful this time of yrar. I've tried some shots but nothing seems to work.I'd try botox but I've never had any docs offer it. I have had shots guided by ulrtasound in my neck that were supposed to burn the nerve endings but they only helped for a month and a half and it was supposed to last a year so it didn't help me much. Hope you feel better soon. Maybe the warmer upcoming weather will help.

kychick,

I am new. thank you. I'm so sorry for what you are going through with this whole divorce thing, the stress has to be making it worse.

Today is the first day in 3 weeks I could lift my head off the pillow without screaming & my ribcage pain is a little better also. I'm so thanking God right now. I hope this keeps up. If we can some relief in some parts of our body we can have a little better of a day I guess. You guys are all so nice.

thanks

Joanne

Hello there,

Believe it or not I have had Botox injection on my hairline to help stop head sweats...it kinda helped but its a pretty expensive way to stop the sweats...I will do it again next summer though.

I'm new here, don't know where to start a post

Theresa

Welcome!!!!!

You can start anywhere....but there is a place that you can introduce yourself for the first time. I just don't know how to explain for you to get there !

However, if you go to "home" for Fibro there's subjuects being discussed and people asking for questions which start a new post! Try that.

Just keep surfing and learning, you'll get there.

This is a good place to come to vent or talk so it saves us from boring our family to much!

So, how long have you been dealing with this?

Do you have a good doctor? Well, I hope you have a decent enough day and type to you soon!

Hey there, I figured it out Look under Newbie.

My doc is pretty cool, like I said, things arent as bad as they use to be. I don't take many meds anymore.

Everything makes me sooooo fat.

Just living day to day like the rest of us.

Enjoy the weekend

Hugs,

Theresa

Oh yea,

The weight gain! Everytime the docs want to try something new on me my first question is "can you gain weight on it?"

I'm glad your finding things. I was slow at this for awhile.

Good to have you here!
