I know back early in November I read that Fibro is now an actual disease. Then someone mentioned some new research involving magnets and brainwaves. Has anyone heard of any new break throughs, research, or theories?

I have heard of the theories behind it..... but I believe in alot of things...lol.... but have not heard of any thing new as far as a treatment.... I have heard that they are trying MRI"S and such to treat areas of the brain that they think control or cause fibro and other things like MS... I think the theory is to bombard the area with high magnetic energy to try to get the area to reset itself to working normally.......They are trying.... research goes on...... so there is still alot of hope......

Well, that let's me out...I can't be near strong magnets!
I've joined the PAH support group because of my diagnosis of Borderline/Mild Pulmonary Hypertention. I also have multiple diagnosis such as Systemic Lupus (which is in remission-Praise God!), hiatal hernia, fibromyalgia, hypothyroidism (my thyroid has been removed),prinzmetal angina,tricuspid regurgitation,pulmonic regurgitation,and dilated cardiomyopathy (with a pacemaker/defibulator). With multiple health issues, I tire pretty easily, but people are very patient and understanding, and I praise God for this and all things.

I approach it from another angle, Cori. From the crystal angle. I learned about healing properties of copper and hematite (magnetic), which are both frequently worn as jewelry for their healing properties.

I think that's actually where the idea for the research came from. Healing propertiies of crystals have been evident in history for apparently thousands of years.

Starr I have a magnet on my neck right now... and it really helps the pain......and the headaches...

Hi cori havn't heard of any new treatments but Jeerie put a post up called "Recent Article" which is about research on the brain the headline Brain blood flow plays a role in fibromyalgia symptoms or some such thing,worth a read.

Sorry If I might ask about the magnets? What kind of magnets are they and were would you find them??? I'm willing to try anything!!

A lot of pharmacies carry bracelets that have magnets in them. That would be the quick and easy method, Laura. You could probably ask your local pharmacist, or go to your nearest Walgreens and ask about them.

Hematite and copper are both known for their healing properties. I found most of mine, both in ore form and in jewelry form, on ebay.
