I read an article in my Natural Health magazine last night about ribose. It sounds promising for people suffering with chronic fatigue and fibro.

"a 2004 study in Pharmacotherapy highlighted the effect of ribose on a 37 year old female surgeon with fibro. She managed her condition with a daily mix of meds and PT with minimal effect. She then added 5 grams of ribose twice daily to her treatment, and after 2 weeks she reported better sleep, improved mental alertness, and a marked decrease in joint pain. After an additional month, her symptoms were all but vanished. And when she stopped taking ribose, her symptoms returned. Not surprisingly, she chose to stay on it."

So I am running out to the health food store today and getting me some of this! It's also good for people with heart problems. I'm sure they have the article online if you look it up...it's very interesting. Definitly worth a try.

Suzee~ I went to my local health food store today and ordered it. I was bummed they didn't have any in. But it should be in next week, I'm so looking forward to trying it I will keep you posted on how it works. It certainly sounds promising.

Any update on Ribose? My grandmother also has fibro and she takes it. She bought some for me too, but I haven't started taking it yet. Curious to know how other people are doing with it. Thanks!

Hi ya all,

I googled ribose and found a lot of info. Apparently it's a form of good sugar. That may help to give you a boost. I guess it's pretty expensive. Some find benefits and some don't.

Now, I did not read a lot on it so some research might be a good thing to check on with some of the sites!

Maybe someone has more info on it.
