I take 2 5/500 vicodin a day for pain control. My new dr does not believe in it! Any suggestions for nonnarcotic pain control?

The only relief I get is from my norco, and some from my sulandec (antiinflammatory, so only really helpful if there's something besides fibro going on). I had to fight to get a scrip for it, but it's worth it.

Different doctors have different opinions on it. If you can find something else that works for you, perhaps trammadol, then try that. If not, maybe talk to another doctor just to get a second opinion.

Good luck!!!

I'm an Advocate

I believe Norcos are another type of Hydrocodone (Vicodin)

A non narcotic pain reliever that works well is Tramadol. Some like it, some don't. I always did very well with it and I take Percocets but Tramadol was great for me as well but I can't take them any longer due to an interaction with another med I'm on. Many people have had some success with it, it's worth a shot. Good luck! Wink

I suffer from Rapid Progressive MS, Lupus, Fibromyalgia, Epilepsy, Migraines, Neuropathy, IBS, Narcolepsy, Arrythmia, Arthritis and too much more complete list on profile.

I'm not currently active due to many personal and medical issues. I will not be participating in MDJ for awhile, my thoughts and prayers are with everyone. I hope everyone is well and I appreciate all of the thoughts, kind words and messages. I have tried to respond as much as possible and apologize if I have not gotten back to everyone. Love & Hugs, Stacey
