Hello, thank you all so much for the kind words and the inquires.I haven't been this sick in a long time. I have viral pneumonia which turned into double bacterial pneumonia. I have been coughing up blood and it was confirmed that I have APLS.All the stress on my body is causing my kidney function to go down and an irregular heart rate. My SLE and Fibro are also flaring pretty bad. I am anemic due th the fact that I have had a period every 2 weeks for 4 years, they suggested a hysterectomy but i am 32 and not ready emotionally. I am going to try progesterone only birth control. I am on antibiotics and iron along with my regular meds. they also upped my prednisone. I feel bad complaining so much.Thank you all for your support

and most of all for caring. Does any one else battle with pneumonia? I get it like 3 or 4 times a year.

wow that's a lot to be sick with that many times a year. I would think be a singer and expanding you lungs so well would help that. Have you ever had the pnuemonia vaccine? I know it really only helps with one type of pneumonia but some protection has to be better than none. I do hope your turn the corner soon and start to improve.

Thank you. Today is a much better day I am awake and up. I think once you get it you are prone to it. I do think it would be a lot worse if I didn't practice diaphragmatic breathing to sing.

I had pretty good luck with the Depo prova shot for birth control and period control for about 13 years. The best part of it is i don't have periods at all. One less thing i have to worry about. So sorry you've been so sick hopefully you will feel better soon.

Like Hampton, when I use Depo-Provera for b.c. I have no period. Which makes me think I wanna go back on it..but I gain weight on it. And I'm on prednisone which has caused me to gain almost 50 lbs..so I don't really wanna add to it. But, missing the period really cut down on my fibro flares. I actually flare monthly either midcycle or right before I start. I flare other times too but...those monthly flares are the worst!

My SIL on the other hand was given Depo to control some fibroids and ended up spotting for weeks on end. Very light but just heavy enough to be annoying.

I also flare really badly my Lupus and fibro go nuts and I have crazy insomnia. I wonder why Depo wasn't mentioned. She talked about hysterectomy,Iud, and the pill. Do you have trouble sleeping?

I've always had trouble sleeping. My anxiety is the cause. I take klonipin for sleep and anxiety which i've been able to reduce the dose since starting Lyrica 3 months ago. I don't think depo would cause trouble sleeping.

Hey lady, I am new to this board, but I wanted to let you know that it seems like I have pnemonia constantly, as soon as my body recovers from one bout, another is on it's way. I even have one of those breathing machines (like for asthma) because I get it so often, I was spending 1/2 my life at the urgent care breathing albuterol and ipratropium bromide. I was just diagnosed with FM in the last 6 mos., but the pneumonia thing has been going on for 8 years. Good luck, feel better. -Tiffani
