MDJunction to me

"All I can say is that this has been the best place ever. It has been six to seven months since I joined, and I have learned so much. I now believe in myself and accept myself on a completely different level. The people on MDJunction has been so supportive and accepting that I have been able to adopt it into my personal life. That has reduced a lot of stress in my life. Thanks to all." (bunny_fly)

this is a private message I sent to someone and thought it might be thought provoking to everyone.

Dr. roby is not the means to an end. .I've have this illness for 25 years. you learn alot during all that time. I was a teenager when I first found out. I dont' see dR roby as a dissapoinitment. I learned something so it is a victory. I'm better than I was. Getting my hormones balanced is important and I'm doing all I can to make that happen. I use doctors. I'll admit it, I use them, I dont' trust them or believe half of what they say. I do my own research and investagation. I know hormones are a big part of fibro and allergies are another part. I dont' know about the homopathic allergiy treatment. but I do know the hormones are helping me. I'm still dealing with some pain but not as bad as it was. Please dont ' give up, learn from everything and build on it. I know for a fact that exercise, a healthly diet, counseling, and proper medical care are the most important things for us. I don't know anyone who has lived with fibro for 25 years like I have. people dont' seem to like me saying that for some strange reason?? but i've tried alot and learned alot. there is no magic pill or treatment that will make us feel wonderful.

I have tried to learn from everyone I come in contact with. I lose hope and then find it again. Right now I'm feeling better and have more energy than I have had since I was pregnant with my last child, 5 years ago. turning 40 made my realize I had to take charge and make " it " happen. I had to find out what was wrong with my body and fix it. I'm in the process of correcting the hormone imbalance I have. I started with Dr. Roby-- we will see where it leads me.

never give up hope!

I'm still doing better I'm meeting with a pharmacist at the compounding pharmacy next week. she is going to work with me to find are right combination of hormones and dosage to get me feeling the best I can. she is also going to address the adrenal glands and a few other things that the Dr.s in TX didn't address. They can do a hormone test with salavia instead of blood work and it's actually more helpful. she was a little surprised the dr. in tx. started me out on such a high dosage of estrogen instead of gradually increasing the way they do. I'll tell you, slow and steady is the way to go. the past month has been a little a roller coaster for me with my moods going from one direction to the other. Only a few days were REALLY BAD. Most of the time is was typical pms like, but I haven't had pms symptons in years so it is different. My husband said he could live with me being 'HORMONAL" for a week if it meant I felt much better the rest of the month. I've felt at times the trip to Austin was a waste of time and a lot of money but they did get me heading in the right direction and I wouldn't have found the compounding pharmancy here if I hadn't gone. I would n't recommend anyone go there but do find a compounding pharmacy in your area and talk to them. the people who work at the one here are so very nice and want to help people.

We did have a great time in Austin and would love to go back -but not to "The Roby Institute" They really should not see patients who live so far away. Their allergy treatment has not helped me at all.

My husband and I laugh when we think about them saying they are the only people who treat fibro this way. the compounding pharmacy here in Nashville has the same treatment plan only better and they actually listen to you. lately my allergies have been acting up and I haven't felt as good as I did a week ago but it's still better than it would have been.

the best part is I'm not living on the couch everyday feeling like the world is passing me by. I'm able to get out there and do some living and I know it's going to get even better.

I just realized I posted this under the WRONG post sorry. It should have been under "hamptons dr. roby"
