are you kidding me? 10% only have side effects? It's got to be waayy more than that. I hate that everyone thinks this is it, the anwer for fibro. I'm sooo glad it helps some people but what % is it helping?

HI...only 10%???? we have way over that just here.....but we have to remember who did the test and why they did it....the drug company had it done....and they did it to sell to us.... they did not want to tell all of us that the side effects, effected 85% of the people who take it.......

They lobbied hard to get it as a disease..... so they could sell a drug for it....think they are going to tell us the truth...... look at all the arthritic meds lately that have law suits on them........ the truth on this med will not come out for a long time........long after all of us have taken it.......... lease we have to remember is that it is almost the same drug as Neurontin....only I think it was 2 molecules were changed to get Lryica....so .... .....

Buy Neurontin its cheaper............. I can not take Lyrica...... it makes me sick......

I feel the need to interject, I have been taking lyrica for a year and a month, yeah... 20 pounds later.... so?

I can move, I can stop crying so much, I can pay attention more. I can have some semblance of life, the stuff has made me a different person.

There are cons, of course... quite a few, but I must emphasize that not everyone has bad results. There are quite a few of us, that think its the bee's knees, the cat's meow...

On the horrible days, I don't think there is anything to make the pain better, but on regular days? A miracle, I love taking the medication.

So I think if you have the opportunity to try it, do it, it may just work for ya!

just my 2 cents,

pondering, but not often...

I have gained almost 30 lbs myself! Im afraid to go off of it. It certainly isnt the cure all, but I do feel like its helping some. I coworker is on it and she has had seen a huge change in her pain, so it does work for some. I am still on the fence as to how much it is helping me although I have been able to reduce my lortab intake to no more than 1-2 a day, sometimes I go a whole day without it. LOL I guess that says something! But I sooooooo hate this weight gain!

It's great that it has helped some of us but I guess the majority I think have had a bad experience. My doctor told me only about 3% of people have noticed an improvement and wasn't very happy to have me try it, he left it up to me. So many drugs including the antidepressants cause the weight gain, but its worth putting up with that side affect to not feel so much pain, I guess.

Been there done that!! Not a very good idea!! I experienced what I thought was the stomach flu. I had the shakes and I could not quit vomiting for days. I went back on and decided to taper off over a couple of weeks and with the help of my dr I was able to stop taking it. Even tapering I still had several weeks of stomach problems. I was 450mg a day when I went off so we were able to taper over a few weeks. If you are experiencing this I would suggest a taper off instead of cold turkey.

You are one of the fortunate 30% who both get relief from Lyrica & can handle the side effects.

I found the bloating & weight gain out of control after only a few days. Regardless of any positive benefits; as I'm also a Type II Diabetic, I just didn't have the safety margin to get larger still.

I, too, was put on Lyrica by my rheumy and gained 10lbs. in one week. I had every bad side effect that you can get. My balance was off so bad that I literally walked into a chair and I broke two toes. They are still broken and hurt. My GP took me off of it and I had two bottles of that crap left. $293.00 per bottle. He put me on Neurontin but very slowly. I am now on 300mg in the morning and 300mg at bedtime. The only side effect with that drug was swelling legs an ankles but they go down at night. I have lost the weight that I gained from the Lyrica. I know everyone is different and I was so excited that my pain was gone but when the side effects hit, I weaned myself off of it and I had read the warning label and the two pages of does and don't that come with the scrip from the pharmacy. I guess my motto at this time is "Live and Learn" and boy am I learning. GTAZ
