I've had fantastic results from the lyrica - but i'm up to 225 at night, and 75 in the am - I think we will up it one more time.

So far I have not noticed that much of a change since taking Lyrica. I am now taking 150 mg at night. My doc thinks that it will definately help me in time. I am also having a really bad flare up and that means nothing much will help until it goes away. I also talked to him about the leg pain and he seems to think it might be withdrawal symptoms from going off the Neurontin. I guess I'll just wait and see.

My Neurologist, Dr. Nelson Berrios at Southwest Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston (for those who need an awesome & extremely intelligent doctor), told me that 600 mg is the "recommended" dose for Fibro patients - according to the medical report or whatever that he received.

I can't imagine taking that much.

Like I posted before, it makes me light-headed when I take the 300 mg with any pain meds. Too, it helps to make me sleepy. So...I take my pain meds when I wake up and then a couple of hours later, I take only 150 mg of the Lyrica.

Oh! I feel for you; I don't know how many pills you have to take, but ugh! How are you doing on the Neurontin? I took it several years ago, but it did nothing for me.

Don't we have to take enough pills for the inflammation, nerve pain, general, widespread pain, and all of the other problems body-wise that Fibromyalgia cause.

Hi there! I gain weight also, but it is almost always because of the inflammation along my spine. Does your spine ever feel like it is caught in between 2 steel walls of muscles and your spine and nerves are being squeezed beyond belief because they are trapped?

I gain weight because I am not able to be as active as I had been before the inflammation. I can barely wash dishes and clean my house when that happens. My pain medicine and Mobic for "normal" inflammation don't work as well when this happens.

But, there is a solution for it. I have a Pain Management Doctor that gives me cortisone epidurals in my lumbar spine and that relieves the inflammation. Then my pain is about a 5 AND I have to remember to not overdo it, though it is hard because of the after the epidural, I can wash the stack of dishes and the floors have to be swept and mopped better than what I had been able to do before the epidural.

The doctor can do the epidural either as an office procedure or in the hospital. I choose the hospital because I hate needles and in the office, I am fully awake and feel the needles going in, so I cannot relax enough for the epidural to last until the next one.

I know that cortisone is not good for the degeneration going on in my spine, but before I started seeing a Pain Management doctor and getting the right pain medicine and epidurals, I could only sit in my chair and do nothing because the pain was so awful.

Hope this helps!!!!

The caffeine, for me, makes my nerves jumpy. The Lyrica is trying to calm your nerves shooting pain and then if I go and drink something that is working against that, well...it is like I have my feet grounded on the floor, touching a live wire and since my feet are grounded, I don't get shocked. But then, I decide to grab a steel bar while holding the wire. (The Lyrica is "my feet are grounded" and drinking caffeinated beverages are the steel bar that I grabbed.

My nerves just get really confused.

I have been taking Paxil for the past 3 years for my depression and not having any side effects or interactions with Lyrica or any of my other meds.

Just an FYI. (let's see if this emoticon code works)

-Sure wish I could get the preview button below to work-
