I havent tried gabitril. I have tried the Cymbalta, and Topamax and Neurontin. Cymbalta, weight gain, Topamax, I had trouble communicating, I couldnt find the words, felt stupid all the time, loved the weight loss though, and Neurontin, sleeeeepy. Maybe I will ask dr about Gabitril. Thanks!

I think it's great that Lyrica works for some people. Except for the weight gain, for most......I was on Lyrica and felt so good; but I ended up with calcifications on my upper arms and lower back. I wish I knew if it was the Lyrica (it is a rare side effect) for sure. I haven't had any more since quitting the Lyrica, so I do think it was that. I was wondering if I should try Gabapentin. Anyone have any side effects from that?

Chris

I truly believe that it affects everyone differently and the more i read here the more I believe this. Cyndi I am really glad the Lyrica is helping you. I just couldn't afford to take it because of the falls and the jerking episodes. I am a stay at home mom of a little five year old boy and it just scared me too much.

I took Lyrica. Yes it really helped with the pain. However, the side effects were not worth it.

I lost sensations in my body so that i couldn't really tell if I had to go to the bathroom. Of course it eliminated andy cahnce of an orgasim. My legs, feet ad face became swollen and itchy. I could not let go of an emotional upset. I finally crashed emaionally. It was very scary.

I am now off the lyrica and my wellbutrin. My brain is thinking much better off the wellbutrin.

i am still recoveringfrom the shysical loss of sensations butsooo much better.

I started on fibro boost by Allergy Research group. My pain is better

dang---that sounds more like an allergic reaction to me. Sometimes the combo of our other meds with any new ones does that. My goodness, if that'd happened to me, i'd stop taking it too. Hope you are better.

((hugs))

Cyndi

Thanks Cyndi. I am alot better although I still occasionally get these spells. They are much fewer and farther in between. And not nearly as severe either. I think you are right on in saying sounds like it was some sort of an allergic reaction as well.

I hate that you never know what side effects the meds are going to give you until you take them for awhile. You try one and get dizzy, swollen and a rash,oh time to stop that one, here take this one,it gives you emotional highs and lows and suicidal thoughts, oops! enough of that one. Like having fibro wasn't enough torture. Maybe someday they will find a way to cure this without the side effects.
May the sun bring you new energies by day,
May the moon softly restore you by night ,
May the rain wash away any worries you may have,
And the breeze blow new strength into your being,
And then, all the days of your life,
May you walk gently through the world, and know it’s beauty and yours.
