Is there another condition/disorder with the symptom of tender points? (same as fibro)

Tender points are for fibro and trigger points are for myofascial pain from what I learned on the internet today. I also have a small brochure showing three women with the tender points indicated and they are called the 18 Tender Points. They sure are where all of mine are.

Thank you for the information and link. I've searched the web and can't find any other medical conditions besides fibro and mps that include the tender point or trigger point symptom. If anyone knows otherwise, please let me know.

The reason I ask is this seems to be the one common symptom among ALL fibro sufferers, and could help clear up confusion for new members who are unsure of their diagnosis.

I believe it is possible to have both fibro and mps, but I'm not positive. It sounds to me like the major difference between fibro tender points and mps trigger points is mps trigger points may feel like painful lumps or nodules, and they restrict range of motion.

I HAVE NEVER HEARD ABOUT ANOTHER SYDROME WITH THE SAME TRIGERS AS fms.I HAVE BEEN TO SEE 3 SPECILISTS, PLUE SPENT 10 DAYS IN THE PAIN CLINIC IN bRISBANE HOSPITAL. oNE THING THAT HAS BEEN SUGGEST TO ME WAS THAT Icould hav MS. Because of the numbness I get and the pins and needles in my arms and legs. I had a ct scan which proved me righ and I got the all clear. Giggles2
My doctor looked at me and told me there was not a thing she was ablr to do to help me with the pain we had tried everything and nothing worked, so now I was left with nothing but injection twice a week for somr pain relief. At least she was honest

I have symptoms of MS as well but an MRI in 1988 showed that everything was normal. I get numbness in my toes - all of them at the same time - but I don't know what it is. I'm making an appt with a rheumy but can't get in to see her until Sept sometime. Here's the difference on trigger and tender points. In Fibro they are called tender points. In Myofascial pain they are called trigger points. I don't know where the trigger points are located however.

When my daughter started with her MS, she kept dropping things and she also felt like she was having a stroke. The first things they did was MRI on head and spine. Then they did a spinal tap on her and that was what confirmed the MS.
