I have decided ibuprofen does nothing for these pains. Does anyone take Excedrin Back and Body?? It has acetaminophen and aspirin in it. I took it today and it acutally seemed to help. I am thinking since there is no inflammation with fibro, the advil isn't helping.

What do you all think? I have no formal diagnosis yet, so I am stuck with over the counter stuff and flexeril for nite time.

My doctor hasn't given me any prescriptions. She is just having me take 2 Aleve in the morning and 2 and night.

If the Excedrin works, I'm willing to try it.

Is the aleve working for you? In the past I've had stomach problems with it. But, maybe I should give it another try?

Aleve still helps me some, mainly because I have bad discs in my lower back (DDD) and torn cartilage in knee, arthro in both knees and ankles.

The Aleve helps with those pains some of the time...at least takes the edge off of it. If it bothers my stomach I take it with Pepcid or Zantac OTC acid blockers.

For many years I've taken Ibuprofen since doctors seem to ignore my pain from FMS, along with migraines and cervical and lumbar bulged disk, straightening of the cervical spine. All which caused excruciating pain on a daily basis and activity and even thinking just made the pain worse. I've started out with 400 mg then 600mg then ended 1200 mg. I couldn't take it anymore. I finally when to neurologist who told me to get off because Im having rebound headaches and pain (YOU THINK). Long story short. I'm still in pain and his medications arent working and i'm ripping my hair from the root from the pain.

Linda, my daughter is addicted to Excedrin because of the high content of caffeeine in it. She will take Excedrin just because. Just a thought for you to have.

The excedrin back and body doesn't contain any caffeine. I can't tolerate caffeine anymore due to my thyroid problems.

Sorry your daughter is dependent on the regular excedrin. I know the migraine formula had the caffeine too. I can't take that one either.
