Just wondering how many people take tramadol/ultram for pain. Does it help? What are the side effects? I am trying to decide what I should ask for when I see my doc next.

I take tramadl and it work for me. I takes most of the pain out of my hands and feet. It does make me sleepy.

[i]Tramadol ( Tramadl/APAP) Is an analgesic combination used to treat or prevent pain. I hope this helps.

I have been on ultram I guess for about 2 years now. I haven't noticed any side effects. I take the time released ultram i find its better then the reguler ultram. I also take vicodin for the really, really bad days. I find that the ultram doesn't cut it.

Its great for the muscle pain but it doesn't help with the nerve pain. I take soma for my nerve pain. I'm allergic to Alot of meds. So pain meds are my only relief.

Thanks everyone for your responses. I think I may ask for a trial run of this. I am betting they won't give it to me though

I don't know why they wouldn't give it to you. Its not a narcotic but then again these days it doesn't have to be when it comes to pain. (Dr's... can't live with them, can't live without them.) I hope you get something to make yourself comfortable. Just stress the fact that your tierd of being umcomfortable. I hope it works out for ya!

Hi Wendy, i'm headed to the chiro now for some ultrasound therapy. I'll keep you posted on whether any doc gives me something or not.

I'd rather try something like tramadol that I can take as needed, than an anti-depressant that I have to take daily no matter what. I've tried those before for interstitial cystitis and had no luck...just bad experiences.

Again. thanks to all who replied.

I take the ultracet(tramadol/APAP) it does work well for me. It makes me very sleepy and I won't drive or take it while I'm working but I am also very sensitive to meds and even Tylenol can make me feel that way. It generally takes most of the pain away though when I do use it. Like Irish said it is not a narcotic however in some states it is considered a contol subtance and in others it is not. Go figure. I hope the doctor does give you something at least keep us posted

I have taken Ultracet (7.5mg) but didn't see any changes, negative or positive. I use 800mg of Ibuprofen during easy days and Darvocet for harder ones. On days where the pain is REALLY unbearable, I take Lortab.

But my sister (Sthrngrace) and my Aunt both take Ultracet (15mg) and say that it works miracles!

They both have back problems/pain, where my pain is more in the hips/shoulders area. Perhaps that makes a difference? Or maybe I wasn't on a strong enough dose?

I wasn't aware it had lower doses. I thought it only came in one. what I have is 37.5mg of tramadol and 325mg of acetaminophen per pill.
