Hi, I am new to the group and have no formal diagnosis. But, I am pretty sure I have fibro. I have autoimmune thyroid disease (Hashimotos)and my pain began at the same time my levels went from hyper to hypo, last September.

Have had sed rate and CK levels checked and they are normal. My ANA was 40:1 homogenous and my doctor says that is likely due to my autoimmune thyroid and my psoriasis.

Bottom line is, I hurt and the pain moves around. Today it is my shoulder and my knee. Some days it is my hip and my fingers...you get the point. So far, I have been taking advil and sometimes flexeril. But 3 weeks ago i started taking osteo bi flex with MSM for muscles and I felt wonderful. No pain at all. It was like a miracle. Then I developed a rash and found I was allergic to something in the Osteo Bi Flex....possibly the glucosamine, but maybe a filler? Who knows? Now I am hurting again.

Do any of you take a glucosamine with MSM? I would like to keep trying other brands because this was working so well for me. I am 53 and i felt like i was 23 again. I am bummed that my pain is back and I don't know what to try. Any suggestions?

Linda

Welcome to the group Linda, I'm so gladd you found it.

I think I took glucosamine with MSM years ago. And I think it helped. I don't take it anymore and I don't know why. I guess when I ran out that I just forgot to get another bottle. In fact I didn't even remember that I took it and that I was out until I read this post.

On a lighter note I received, in the mail, a sample of the glucosamine called "Move Free". For the life of me I could not figure out why I got a sample of a laxative. Hubby finally read the box and told me what it really was.

Hi all, and thanks for the responses. I am going out to the "vitamin store" again tomorrow to look for a different brand of glucosamine/chondroitin to try. Will let you all know if I find one that helps that doesn't make me itch!!

Hi Linda,

Glucosamine/chondroitin with MSM. It does help me with alot of joint and muscle pain. I take the Sping Valley it is the Generic form at Walmart. I 1st started taking it a couple of years ago for my right knee, it hurt every time I was stooping or bending down it took about a month, but it really helped me. Within 2mos. my knee felt much better. I also have to get another bottle. Take care.

Joan

Hi Joan, I was taking the same thing, glucosamine chondroitin with MSM...Osteo Bi Flex brand. It took away 90% of my pain within 5 days. But, I am allergic to something in it. I got a terrible itchy rash. So, today I went and got a different brand. Hoping I can tolerate it and it works for me.
