Is anyone having any kind of problems with sound?

I would say about 75% of the time I have difficulty with sound. I am very sensitive to noises and voices. People talk in a normal tone of voice and it is like it hurts me. It is so hard to describe. If I am in a room where several people are talking I want to hold my hands over my ears and yell for everyone to be quiet. When several people talk I can't seem to understand the words and it hurts my head. I was told that I have a lesion on the vestibular nerve that goes from my brain to my right ear. So I am sure this is the problem but I am wondering if anyone else has this problem???? And if so what do you do for it??? It seems to be getting worse each day....

Yes, I have sensitivity to sound but there are no problems with my ears. When someone talks very loudly I have to cover my ears. There isn't anything that I know of that can be done for it.

This is one problem I can really relate too. I cannot stand to be in crowds of people. I used to go to this searfood restaurant where people crack crabs and now I cannot go because the banging sound and the cracking sound make me crazy.

I am also sensitive to loud noises. We have a band at out church and there are times I have to leave and sit ourside because of the noise.

The worst is driving in the car. I can hardly tolerate the radio or CD player being on with the windows up. It feels like my head is going to explode.

It is not all about noise. Sometimes the amuont of voices or noises going on at the same time bothers me also like crowds or even my own family in small rooms with they are all talking at the same time.

My ears are super sensitive, but I cannot seem to hear---does that make any sense?

I have issues with sound. Mine are like Sandi's, I have an issue when there are a lot of different noises going on at once, it drives me crazy and really stresses me out.

Sandi..It makes complete sense.. That is exactly how I feel. When my kids talk to me I have to ask them to talk quieter. It is also like I can't hear after a point to...

I have always loved music. I used to always drive with some kind of music on in my car, I even have my Ipod hooked up in my car. Now my radio and my Ipod just sit there. I never have any kind of music on in the car anymore.

Sandi everything you described is everything I am feeling...

This is one symptom that is really driving me crazy and it just seems to get worse. My neurologist told me there was a med that might help me. But she wanted me on the Neurontin for awhile to see if it would help this symptom. Well it isn't helping so I think I am going to call her and see what she can do... Sometimes I want to cover my ears and scream for the world to shut up!!!! It is making me nuts!!!

Silence has become my new best friend.

I am going to get my ears checked as soon as I get my eyes checked. One thing at a time.

Like I said I had my ears checked at the beginning of all of this and they found a lesion on my vestibular nerve to my right ear.

Sandi let me know how it goes when you get your ears checked????

I have to say this is one of my worst symptoms.... I hope when I call my dotor that there is something to help with this. My kids think I am crazy too!!

Sandi let me know how your eye exam goes too. I wear glasses, but the last time I went to the eye doctor I told him I was having blurred vision too. I even paid an extra cost out of my pocket to have some special test done on my eyes and they said besides me being near sighted everything was ok...
