Wow!!I haven't gotten a urinary tract infection as of yet...(knocking on every piece of wood in my house)but I dont think I take it enough really.I'm afraid of pain meds...not that I have a problem with addiction, just I don't like the feeling of being loopy, if you know what I mean...

But I appreciate the suggestion of the herbal supplement, and I'll talk to my "quack"...oops,I mean my "doctor" and see if I can talk him into lettin me try Stadol...THANKS!

Oh, I wish it was an infection...I was clogged! Anyways. There are a few other herbal things that may work for you, but talk to your doctor first. If you are able to take them, I will fill you in. I would much rather take natural things than medications then actual medications. I think drug companies are leeches who just want our money.

Oh,and nhlflagg...the only advice I can give you is that everyone is different, and everyone tolerates meds differently.I havent had any side affects from neurontin. But pay attention to your body, and if you notice ANYTHING...CALL YOUR DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY,PLEASE!!

And as for acne,I read an article in a medical journal at my drs office that acne goes neck and neck with fibro,so yes,I'm havin breakouts also.

I have been taking Neurontin for the last 7-8 months and I have not had any "strange" or "bad" side effects. It has helped me with pain and my neuropathy. However it does not help with sleep or any other symptoms for me. I take 1800 mg a day. But what works for some people doesn't always work for others.

nhlflagg as you already know I am praying that this works for you!!!

Neurontin was not one of my friends... it made me feel like I was drunk... and when I woke up in the morning it was like I was paralyzed. But hopefully it works for you and you can get some relief just be mindful of your body and if it disagrees with you let your doctor know and move on to the next pill.

I think it is really important having feedback from those close to you while taking the Neurontin. I really don't remember a lot about the few months that I was on Neurontin, but my husband says that is because I was just existing from one day to the next. He believes that the slight improvement in pain was because I couldn't "remember" hurting.

Just ask others to observe you closely. And remember that you may not have any of these strange side effects. Time will tell.

Gentle Hugs,
Carla

Thanks for the feedback and I will watch out. So far it's seems to be going ok. I started on Monday and I am still acting like myself but still in pain. I am only on 300mg so it is still a mild dose but I will let you know as I keep moving on. Thanks for all helpful hints and kind words.
