It's gotten to where I have that fluish feeling everyday and it really wears me down. I have hydrocodone that takes care of it, but of course, it wipes me out completely. Ibuprofen will help somewhat, but not so much.

How do you guys handle it or treat it?

thanks!

Bailey

I start around 5 pm on the dot every day.I have such a high tolerance to pain meds by now they don't affect me that way, but you might try adding a non-narcotic painkiller like Ultram. That has helped me.

I've been having flu-like symptoms for the last several weeks, too. For at least the last 3 years, I've had a lot of problems during the summer. I think that mine is affected by the humidity. I live in Alabama, and the humidity is extremely high now and for the next 3 months.

I take Percocet, but doesn't always help a lot with the flu-like symptoms. Ibuprofen helps me some, but I can't take it too often because of stomach problems. I've found that sometimes pain creams help for a while. One that makes the pain feel better right away is NutraCool. One drawback with this one is the strong odor - feels good, though. I also use other creams that contain aspirin and/or Ibuprofen. There is a RX Voltaren Gel that contains pain meds (can't remember right now if it is aspirin or Ibuprofen) that I have found to be useful. Sometimes these creams help, but sometimes nothing seems to help.

I'm looking forward to hearing what suggestions other people have.

Gentle Hugs,
Carla

I have the fluish feeling too. It is just another wonderful symptom of fibro. I feel like I have been run over by a truck. Pain pills do not work for me too much because I also have a high tolerance to them . When I have surgery they have to up my medication to get me asleep.

I do take tramadol/Ultram and my dr has me on Nortripyline 75 mg at night for chronic pain. It is helping somewhat.

Thanks for the suggestions. At least I know I'm not the only one with the symptom now. Maybe it is the summer humidity too. I live in Florida, so that could be.

I have that horrible fluish feeling and have had for a couple of years. Nothing seems to help it. The heat and humidity seems to make it worse though (southern Mississippi) I use heating pads, ibuprofen, soma, tizanidine, hot baths and crawl into bed when I just can't take it anymore...More of an escape than anything else I think.

Pretty much. Some days it is worse than others, but it is always with me. How about you?

No, thankfully. Usually only when I'm in a flair. I don't if I could stand it everyday, all the time!

The heat and humidity seem to do it to me. I also live in Florida. I love the weather in spring time. I hate the summer. I dont even like to go out of the house in the summer. I need to have air conditioning or I cant function. I feel like the heat takes all of my energy and I just feel like a bloob.
