I've been taking Lyrica for several months and it helps me a lot. I stopped taking my morning dose because I started a new job and can't focus or speak well when I take it, but I continue to take 150 mgs at dinner time.

Also, my psychiatrist changed my antidepressant to Cymbalta last week (was on Lexapro previously), and the pain relief is significant. I took Cymbalta about a year ago, but not in combination with Lyrica. I'm very hopeful at this point.

I have seen no effects from it, good or bad so I am slowly taking myself off of it. Whats the point if its not working.

At our Fibro Support group this coming Tuesday Lyrica will be the subject. A doctor will be there to talk about it along with the drug reps from Pfizer(?). I'm looking forward to hearing what they say. Course the reps will have nothing but good to say about it.

I've been on Lyrica since I was diagnosed in late March, started at 75 mg twice a day, was upped to 150 mg twice a day. I'm impressed with it. I too have issues in the morning with feeling loopy... not being able to focus and all... but I find that as long as I take the morning dose with breakfast, I'm all set... as long as I have a snack about mid-morning too.

I may have fibromyalgia, but fibromyalgia is not me.

I too have posted many times about lyrica--

I wouldn't be without it. I take 500mg a day and I want every mg. I felt an almost immediate response to lyrica. I felt less pain and when the pain returned and the dosage was recently increased--I had the same response again. It is a drug that works for me. I have have the nasty side effect of weight gain. It upsets me sometimes but if I had to choose b/t the pain or the weight I will chose the weight.

ALCSS2008: You took the words right out of my... keyboard? I love my Lyrica, preach about lyrica and don't want to be without it! I take 225 of lyrica at night, but Rheumy said that he will probably raise my dose at my next visit. I've started having pretty steady flares again, but I have been at this level of Lyrica for almost eight months so I'm not complaining about my breakthrough pain.

Again, ALCSS2008, I echo your words.

I Love Lyrica!

Hi tsage and all...

I was diagnosed with Fibro in April and am taking75mg Lyrica morning and night. I am definitely noticing a difference in my pain level.

I was just to my Rheumy this morning and my tenderspots are much improved but because I am sooooo tired ALL the time , we re going to try adding Wellbutrin to my meds.

My neck and shoulders are much better after just the one shot on each side the very first visit.

I don t see him again for another 8 weeks and then ONLY if I deem it necessary according to my pain and suffering so we shall see .

Auntie3285, I'm happy to learn Lyrica is helping you. I hope you have the same success with Welbutrin.

Yes! Lyrica has worked out well for me for 9 months. It doesn't work great for me. I'm still in constant pain/exhaustion. Prior to it though, I was in constant migraine and my hips hurt so bad to walk...No side effects. I was on Neurontin/Gabapentin prior to it and it helped somewhat. So far, Lyrica's been best treatment. I don't know if my FM is getting worse, or the Lyrica is not working as well. My body may be getting too used to it? I also take Lamictal and Estrogen.--Wendylynn
