I have pain from the Fibro and also have severe arthritis in my legs. Sometimes I want to drag myself across the floor to get where I need to go. It's terrible to feel this way at 27

I just walk if I can and if I can't I do so only if I absolutely have to. The other day was so bad that I actually used one of those little shopping buggies at Walmart. I laughed so hard though because I had just left the eye doctor and my right pupil was still dialated and I just imagined myself going around on this buggie with one big pupil and one small one.

I also almost wrecked into a water fountain too!

It was quite an experience.

I don't really know of any other way to get around without a wheel chair. I personally told them no to a wheel chair because if I don't keep these legs moving they will only get worse.

I hope you find something that helps.

Oh Nooooooooooo..here comes Cadburry in the motorized buggie!! Ha, I can just see it....BOOM...smack dab into the toilet tissue end stand!! Over the load speaker the Manager says...""It's OK Folks...she landed 'softly' in the Charmin Display"" And here are all these tiny green gremlins going...Oh.."Pleaszzzzzzzzz don't sqweeze the Charmin!!!"

Ah, but seriously now, I use a walker that is like a small cart. It is collapsible, has 4 wheels, and has a basket in front! I just LOVE my cart~Walker Do Hicky. Now when we go someplace like the zoo, library, Walt Dizzy World, or anything else that requires ALOT of walking, We whip out my wheelchair! I can't walk more than 100 ft anymore it seems! I'm not embarrassed at all going into a store with my walker, or using one of their motorized carts! I've already glued my new Fibro Car Magnets to my wheelchair, and if they are that darn curious...Ask me and I shall tell you WHY I cannot walk without assistance!! Have a good evening...Ta Ta for now...

I think you guys are absolutely hilarious!!! I mean I was crying at that description Tuffy. A sense of humor even at our weaknesses. What else can ya do!

On a serious note--do you feel that fibro has been progressive for you? Did you have these mobility issues early on in your diagnosis, or did they develop gradually over time?

angelblossom--my prayers are with you. At this time I get around okay, very slow moving--esp. after I have been sitting for a long period of time. I really try to make a conscience effort to get up and move around every 10 min or so. I also have a difficult time sleeping, my Dr. has not given me anything to help with sleeping.

Tuffy, you are so funny.

Hurt, I have found that my fibro got progressive. For a few years I was in a wheel chair. I was so bad I had trouble walking around the house.

At the time I had a great Doc. She got me a threapist to come to the house and work with me. If it were not for her, I think I might still be in that chair. Now I only use one of them carts at the store if I have to do a lot of shopping or if I have been doing to much and in to much pain.

I try to make it a daily thing to walk some. even if it is only around the house once every couple of hours.

My legs have been hurting so much lately, I can hardly get down my stairs in the mornings. But I have been outside alot lately. Right about my knees I get swelling across my legs and the one leg has that electric feeling. I so hope they don't continue to get worse. But if they do I just happen to know where to come for support...Kaze

I use a cane, I tend to have weakness more on my left side and have always had problems with my left hip and left leg. However, I definately say that this is an illness that does progress because now I have swelling in my legs especially around my knees very bad. How I discribe the pain is that it feels like someone is wringing a dishrag out, only its my leg and if I were to turn my leg inwardwith my toes pointed in towards the inside of my legs and try to walk, that is how my legs feel like all day long.

I have an appointment with my family doctor tommorrow about it. I told my neurologist yesturday but he told me to take that up with her( my family doctor).Im gonna see about her refferring me to a rheumatologists as well

When the world says give up, hope whispers give it one more try... unknown

Morning Gals...Yup.....I'm baaaaaaccckkkk! Quick run...run.. Oh wait...we CAN'T run. Ah thats ok..leave that high energy stuff for the kids to do! I'll just sit here on my Hooter Scooter with my glass of Lemonade & watch! Yawwwnnnn! Heck, I get exhausted just watching my dogs fly around the yard chasing each other!! Right now I am watching my baby boys (3 dogs) having their "Pool Time" We bought a kids plastic pool, fill it up 1/2 way and the dogs lay in it and 'chill out' Then they get SO gigged up, they run around wildly like they just got lucky or something! HILARIOUS, and wish you all could see it!

I thank you all for acknowledging my twisted sense of humor. Makes me want to post more funny things if I can just get ONE person to laugh and smile, well, then my day is complete!!

Personally, I have had Fibro for over 10 yrs. At first it started out in my shoulders. Seemed like I needed to live by a Golf Course, as I had so many constant 'Rock Hard Golf Balls" in both my shoulders! And none of them there "checkered short wearing, pink socks with sandals" golfers would take them off my back! I mean hey...free Golf balls!!!!!..what a deal huh? 4........duck...Oh Henry, that Darn Tuffy's out in the backyard again, trying to give it away for free...

Ok, where is that serious bone in my body hiding today.... Now...what were we talking about? Oh yeah, progression of Fibbie along with aging!

I started out with a very mild case, but year by year it seemed to gradually creep more into my body and rear its ugly green head. Now, at the old age of 46, it has fully encased itself within me, and some days... its hard to bear, as you all KNOW it can. Thus, that is where my "Humor" comes out in me. Its a GREAT distraction 4 me! mile: In this past year, it has gotten alot worse, its a chore to get out of bed due to the stiffness & all over pain some mornings. Even hard to roll over in bed!! When I wake up, I first rip the CPAP machine I have to wear while sleeping, off my face! Then slowly and gingerly sit up and rest on the side of the bed. I truly believe mornings are the worst...your brain is telling you to stand up...as straight as possible, and then put one leg in front of the other....get to the bathroom, take care of business, put my teeth in, and then walk that loooonnngggg hall way to my morning savior....the "Coffee Pot"!!! Oh, you just HAVE to love that wonderful man "Mr Coffee"!! It takes a good hour to move around and work the stiffness out of my body. And like it was mentioned, its good to get up every 10-15 minutes just to keep the bones & joints lubed up!

So, I say YES..it does "progress over time" I hate to think sometimes of how I will be at the age of 60+. But as they say for people with arthritis, "KEEP MOVING"..even if it one lap around your living room..Move untl we no longer 'Can'!! Have a happy Tuesday afternoon...love you all!!
