I just saw this article on AOL's homepage. It stated that median income families paid an average of $2,628 in federal income taxes in 2007. So, what are those taxes used for?? According to the article..the breakdown is this: 42.2 cents of every federal income dollar went toward military expenses. 22.1 cents of every fed inc dollar went toward health programs. 10.2 cents of every fed inc dollar went toward non-military interest 8.7 cents of every fed inc dollar went toward anti-poverty program costs. 4.4 cents of every fed inc follar went toward education, training and social services. 3.9 cents went to government and law enforcement costs. 3.3 cents went toward housing and community development. 2.6 cents went toward environmental, energy and science. 1.5 transportation, commerce & agriculture 1 (one) penny of every federal tax dollar went toward international affairs Post edited by: Bkwrm398, at: 04/17/2008 20:15 |
