Hi gang!

I was reading Dear Abby just now and there was an article bout the additional tax refund this year. I normally don't have to file taxes but did this year because I was told I might be eligible for the refund. Even if it's only $300.00, it's money we wouldn't have otherwise so if you aren't sure if you need to file when normally you don't, go to www.irs.gov and read up on it. I hope you all get at least the $300.00

Just think, if you have children, you get that much for each one you count on your income tax. I believe these checks will be mailed out in May with the day depending on your last 2 digits of your SSN.

"Your readers can help not just the IRS but perhaps themselves, friends or family by spreading the word. Please ask them to mention it to people they think might qualify. The eligibility rules are on irs.gov, the best source of information." and

"Generally, people who have at least $3,000 from earned income or certain benefits from Social Security, Railroad Retirement and Veterans Affairs -- or a combination of income from these benefits -- are eligible. They need only provide a few details on a Form 1040A. We'll do the rest." as stated by DOUG SHULMAN, IRS COMMISSIONER

"Never take someone for granted
Hold every person close to your heart
Because you might wake up one day
And realize that you've lost a diamond
While you were too busy collecting stones."

Yep, we're getting them! Can't wait.

We're on the late part of the payout since we filed under my husband's social. that's ok, it's probably going to pay for RX's anyway

Thanks for the info.

So again...if you don't file a tax return because you're on Disability or SSI or whatever....YOU HAVE TO FILE THIS YEAR TO GET THIS MONEY!!!

Just a reminder for those who didn't know!

Hmmm. Well I can not remember a time that I disliked getting money. And this time the US government is going to 'give' me $1800.00, and I will put that money to good use -- stimulating the economy, but I have to admit I am deeply confused.

During WWII the Gov. Sold war bonds to pay for the war. Now to offset the cost they are going to give away money. Huh? Ok, so their thinking is that I will spend it -- and they are right -- I will spend it. But with the trade deficit severely upside down as it is, this means that most of the money that is spent will go to a foreign interest. At what point in this logical sequence am I suppose to say, "oh, I get it that makes sense".

Does this thing make sense to anyone?

I am not an economics major. I must not be understanding the brilliant logic of this. To me it seem like it will depreciate the dollar even more than it is now, making the few dollars that I do have worth less.

But I do not wat to be a party pooper so... Yippie!

coffeebean, you should still fill out your federal income taxes this year, you might be lucky and get the refund. I am so glad to hear you were approved for your SS, I know that is a huge relief when it comes to finances. Have they told you when your medicare will start? I know mine is such a blessing because otherwise I couldn't afford to go to the doctors.

May the sun bring you new energies by day,
May the moon softly restore you by night ,
May the rain wash away any worries you may have,
And the breeze blow new strength into your being,
And then, all the days of your life,
May you walk gently through the world, and know it’s beauty and yours.

I am so very glad. My daughter has her senior prom, and it is my son's junior prom. Then my daughter has her graduation May 23rd and then her 18th birthday May 31st. My husband daughter has her 18th birthday May 31st too and graduates June 3rd. Then it is my husbands birthday June 13, mine June 14, My son's June 21 and my other daughter's June 23rd. Since my SS is one appeal---I can really use the money. Sandi
