MDJunction to me

djfilippone"Before I found this site I felt so alone.  Watching my daughter struggle with IH and being treated like she had two heads from doctors.    I have plenty of family and friends but there was nobody that really knew what she was going through.
I not only have support and love from others who will listen and share their
story, but I have made some forever friends.  Having this support site does make a difference to many.

Everybody, I just got a phone call from Lori/Hampton. She's on the road, but she asked me to post a prayer request for her daughter.

Her daughter passed out in the shower. After going to the doctor, they think there's something wrong with her brainwaves. They've ordered blood work and an MRI. Lori's extremely concerned because her mother had a type of brain tumor that's hereditary.

Lori's on her way to see her daughter right now. She'll arrive there tomorrow. She would really appreciate all the prayers, good thoughts, positive vibes, whatever it is that you personally do, for her daughter.

I think we should send some for Lori as well. Obviously, she's pretty beside herself.

We love you, Lori! Everything is going to be all right. I just know it is!

Lori, I am praying that God holds your hand and cradles your daughter as you both face this journey together. Many blessings for your family and I pray for the strength you will need to stay well. I know everything is going to be ok, just hold on to your faith. If there is anything you need, all you have to do is ask.

Your Friend,

Elizabeth

The best kind of friend is the kind you can sit on a porch and swing with, never say a word, and then walk away feeling like it was the best conversation you've ever had.

I am just like you and I am on MDJ for support and true friendship. Please, always consult with your doctor about medical advice and medication, never take one's opinion regarding your most precious asset which is your life.

~Elizabeth~ :)

Thank you all so much!! Tina thank you for getting this post up for me!! I know that the power of prayer of this group has helped so many and since I was on the road at wits end I knew that if I could get my family here to pray that everything would be okay. This is the name of what the dr thinks is the problem and a short description:

A vasovagal episode or vasovagal response (also called neurocardiogenic syncope) is a malaise mediated by the vagus nerve. When it leads to fainting, it is called a vasovagal syncope, which is the most common type of fainting.

There are a number of different syncope syndromes which all fall under the umbrella of vasovagal syncope. The common element among these conditions is the central mechanism leading to loss of consciousness. The differences among them are in the factors that trigger this mechanism.

The dr had set up blood tests for tomorrow and some type of brain waves test and MRI for Monday. He has told her not to be alone or to drive until we find out what it is.

What scared me the most is that my mother had the same type of symptoms before they found her brain tumor. The same dr that is treating my daughter also treated my mother and found it in an MRI. This type of tumor was so rare that my mother ended up having to have surgery in Iowa instead of Ohio. My mother recovered but it was a very long and hard recovery. I'm hoping and praying that she will not have the same.

My daughter, Beth is 21 years old, just celebrated her 1 year anniversary with her husband. They are great kids and have been doing God's work thru music for several years. The have there own Christian rock band and try to help as many teens as possible thru her music that she writes and sings. In fact they just got a Label and are set to record their first full length CD in September.

That is all I know right now. I'm checked in my hotel for the night and will finish up the trip tomorrow. I can't wait to get to her and hug her like I've never hugged her before. She is so scared and needs her mom right now. I wish that I didn't have to stop for the night but after shutting down the condo and packing the car and 7 hours of driving I had to stop and try and rest. Not sure if I will be able to sleep but I will be able to take some meds now and rest.

Love and Hugs

Lori

ps. I don't have my external keyboard and have a hard time typing without it so excuse and typos.

I'm not a dr, anything stated in my post are from my own personal experiences.

I am a Herbalife distributor and have been trained in nutrition and weightloss. If you have any questions please send me a pm.

Never give up the fight we are all in this together.
