WHY THIS PLACE IS SO INCREDIBLE: i Came here and stayed because on other pain support sites i saw the very same compassion about the pain, frustration, suferring -- I saw people reach out and discuss their pain, confusion, frustration --the FEEINGS..... ALL OF WHICH I UNDERSTOOD. And others came forward, JUST LIKE THEY DO HERE and replied "I know how you feel, you are not alone..."..

BUT****

THE DIFERENCE AT MDJ - FIBRO, and the reason i love being here is THE MESSAGE HERE IS STRONG and goes even farther:

"i know you are hurting (confused, scared...whatever), "I have been where you are" (compassion) and then -- (and this is the miracle)..."and this is what I did/tried/helped, what happened, what worked or didn't work for me, what I learned...."

THIS IS WHY THIS PLACE IS SO SPECIAL!!! -- the HOPE, the STRENGTH in ADDITION to the incredible love, compassion and SUPPORT here --

Not only talking about the problem, which we can do here and not feel alone -- but here there is SO MUCH more of the next sentence:

HOPE, the DESIRE and willingness to LOOK for, ask for, and OFFER EACH OTHER what worked for "another", to offer each other the little and bigger "solutions", tips, pointers that really help!!!!!

That is the AMAZING thing i see in all of you here that takes my breath away in its ability to GIVE BACK SO MUCH and at the same time learn, love and laugh together!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

".....Grant me the serenity to Accept the People I CANNOT change, the Courage to Change the ones I CAN, and the wisdom to know -- That's just ME!...."

Thank you Auggie. This is a wonderfully strong and caring group, you are so right. And we HAVE to stand tall together and Hold each other up at times, but after all, isn't that what we are supposed to be here for? Everyone here is just so AWESOME! The laughter is what keeps us going and just knowing that there are so many that really understand us is the greatest feeling in the world. I am so glad I found you guys. We are free here to share ideas, lend support, and share our deepest feeling.

You know Auggie, I have seen the same things here that you have just you put it better into words then I ever could. 9You need to do this article) But I fought this for a long time by myself and now it is easier to deal with because I do have all of you to talk to and listen to me. Also, we bounce ideas off one and another and this Fibro Awareness Day. Look at how far we have this going and it is because all of us not just one or two. But all of us because everyone is doing what they can to help the others get the word out and we know that we each have each other to bounce ideas off of so we feel more comfortable then we would if we were by ourselves. I have a reason to make sure that I say what is important because I know that what I say is going to hopefully one day help someone else that has this and not be treated as bad as some of us has been. More people will be aware.

I know when May 12th comes I will be here toasting all of you for being my friends and my family. And I will also be praying that we find something to help each other one day soon.

I am proud to be able to consider you all my family and my friends.

{{Soft & Gentle Hugs}} to all of you

Be careful what you pray for there Suze!! next thing you know you might be on that couch!!! I crack up this bright 4:30 am hour just thinking of the to-do list just to look quasi-ok....Then again (the camera adds 10lbs so I WOULDN'T look like a stick) (just kidding -- but i can see us all wiht the various acoutrements we all lock into for releif. We could bring extension cords or heating pads -- and we coudl all have matching pillow cases). (I KNOW you each have a favorite -- like a blankie right)?

OK so on the SILLY side: Fess up Did anybody else out there 1.) TOTALLY stop wearing makeup? 2.) cut corners on quick showers and only shave kneecaps down (unless dire need)? 3.) buy the ugliest flat shoes known to mankind (that you would have turned your nose up back in the day) and ...

finally - anybody change hairstyle to AVOID having to dry or style the hair???

Hee Hee -- I have three colors in hair now. Old color from a good weekend where I could sit in that ungoldy device they shampoo us in w/head back, the-yikes-i'm-in-a-rush color #R6 in the box (and you NEVER look like the chick on the box) and then the silver I like to call my aging gracefully "highlights"......

Hell-- i IF we got on that couch Suze & booze....and if I were even so inclined (big IF in and of itself) Hell, I'd need a full day for each - hair, face, nails etc....

SO? Should i make this a PS?

You think Oprah would throw that in ? Sorta like a "makeover for myalgia" ?

I laff when i DO get little gussed up - the girls who work for me say "hello, you must have a meeting today"...

*** and BEFORE i get a lecture about what's important or for being shallow... I DO KNOW all of us here are beautiful on the inside and THAT is what matters, what we see in each other, what God sees, and what good ole Oprah would see too**

Not to mention she's had her ups and down with looks right? We are all more alike than different.

Auggie,

Couldn't have said it better myself. The show would have to take me with no makeup, baggy shit (due to my weight gain) and my hair not styled anymore either. Just can't hold up the blow dryer anymore. We are a great group of strong people here!

Well said auggie, you have a gift for writing. Opra would have to take me with no makeup, sweatpants, 2 sweaters and what I call my "I cant raise my arms" hairstyle.Yes auggie I have done all 3,and never dry or style my hair anymore, just wash and let dry. I love this group for all the same reasons, and because all of you give me strength on days when I need it,and I hope I have done the same for some of you. We totally rock!!!
May the sun bring you new energies by day,
May the moon softly restore you by night ,
May the rain wash away any worries you may have,
And the breeze blow new strength into your being,
And then, all the days of your life,
May you walk gently through the world, and know it’s beauty and yours.
A Native American Blessing
