Just wondering where everyone who has filed is with their case...I am still in the appeals stage. They are sooo slow. I finally hired some disability advocates.

Surely they will see from when I had to go see their pyschologist a week or so ago how bad off I am. I could barely walk that day, had my cane out, son had to drive me, I kept getting up from chair, flexing my legs, plus I was so depressed that day, I went through so many things while there, I cried several times, talked about suicide, got angry and yelled about how slow SSD was, and what do they want from me. I am surprised he didnt call the paddy wagon to come get me.

Anyway, praying everyone gets their case approved.

It took me a long time to get my SSD. I first filed in 94 I finnaly got approved in late 97. Last month they sent me papers saying they were re-evaluating me. They even sent me to one of there doc. I got a letter 2days ago saying that they are keeping me on SSD.

I have been wondering the same things about SSD. I just sent the patient profile papers back today. They will begin the hearing soon. I filed once already last year and was denied. I have new diagnosis and symptoms since then like the FM and Ankylosing spondelitis. My doctor told me to keep filing. Said it takes up to three times before they will approve. She told me that if they approve but take weeks to process claim, than I should call her and she will handle SS for me.

How many people on this web page are getting their SS. And if we do get SS than is State also available?

Sandi, do you have a lawyer? Cause if you do I would be on the phone asking him to check it out, why it is taking so long. Or you call and see. I wouldnt be able to handle the stress!!

To anyone who is waiting to get social security I wish you all the luck! It can be a very long, hard, frustrating process. I got it a few years ago but for my depression. I had to try quite a few times too. I no longer recieve money because I just went back to work full time about 4 months ago but if I need to quit at any time I wont need to re-apply untill 2010. That is a huge plus. I honestly think the only reason I even got it was because I was getting ECT treatments.

Yes, I do and I have already called and I was told that the decision is in the stages of being witten. I had the Maryland Congressman look into it and he too was told that it is in the stages of being written. That was two weeks ago tomorrow. March 28. It has been over 10 weeks since my hearing. The judge did not like me, My advocate said she does not know what I did to pi-- him off, but she has never seen him like that. I don't know either. I think he doesn't want to give me the judgement because of my age and my education and he really doesn't have a choice because I am sick and I cannot help that I cannot work. Yes, I am so anxious and stressed that I can barely function.

So you think maybe he thinks that because you have had higher educations and because you are younger, they may find you able to get a more sedentary job? Like a desk job? Believe me I understand that one. My first denial came with a suggestion from SSD that even though they know I cannot do my past jobs which were very stressful for me, I could do a sit down, routine simple two step job with no contact with the public! LOL

I asked them what kind of job is that?? The only jobs I have EVER had are cashier when I was very young and then always in drs offices either as medical assistant, receptionist and then practice manager. They are not too bright. THe only thing I do have going for me though is my depression, that will make it hard for me to adapt to ANY kind of job, and my age, I am approaching 53.

I am praying for ya girl, every day and night that you get approved and this nightmare stops for you!

At my hearing there was a representative from the social security office there with the title of rehab specialist. He told the judge that there was no job for me in my present condition. I think it all goes back to the fact that I took my meds. They make me very sleepy and I was tired at the hearing. The judge kept asking me if I was too tired for the hearing to continue. Then he did not have the records for my visit to University of Maryland where I was dx with fibromyalgia. He kept screaming at me that I did not have the spinal tap the doctor reccommended way back in 4/06 when I went to the hospital with a migriane. He then screamed about why I did not have any surgeries and if they wanted to do any and how I could be this sick if they didn't even want to do surgury on me. And then he screamed at me for taking a percocet for my foot which had a third degree burn on it when they were given to me for my headaches. When actually they were given to me Hydrocodone 5/325 Q6hr as need for pain. The script didn't say head, foot, eyelash, tooth,,,,,but I couldn't correct him or he would never approve me. Also, the only place I can get pain meds is my pain clinic because I have a pain contract. Then he kept harping about my knee surgery in 1999 that had nothing to do with my case. He screamed " Well you put it down." I said, you asked for all prior surgeries and I put it down, it was never part of this case. My hearing was a disaster. Oh, and lets not forget that I had a misdiagnosed, untreated right broken ankle (both bones) that I was obviously limping on. I guess he thought I was faking something else. I had that on my right foot and the 3rd degree burn on the left. I could hardly walk. And lets not forget the fibro, the cold weather, the stress, and the fear.

I will problably never get it,

I should have taken my husband with

me, but he would have never maintained

his temper.

See what I mean, A DISASTER111
