I'm an Advocate

that when you type out fibromyalgia and/or fibro that it tells you it's misspelled?

Is it just me, or is that a bit annoying and insulting?

It's kind of annoying, but not all that unusual. I do work for an online 'answer' company called ChaCha. Their spell check ALWAYS shows ChaCha as spelled wrong! Duh!

Yeah, where's the spell check? Kristy, I had never heard of ChaCha until one of my daughter's friends told us about a kid that sat in class and sent all of the questions on a test that she did not know to them while they had a sub. We started doing it to see if it worked. That is really neat. How do they get the answers so quickly?

When you type your reply any misspelled words are underlined in red. Just go back and right click on the word and choose the correct spelling on the list. There are a lot of medical terms that are not included and always show up as being spelled wrong. There is also an option to add a word to the dictionary.

Any misspelled words should automatically show up underlined in red. Then you just right click on that word and a list of options should pop up.

If it doesn't it may be your browser??? I use Firefox.

I'm pretty sure it's the browser. Firefox has a lot of cool features. Smile But it does miss quite a few words that it seems like it should know. It's like when I use Gmail and use a contraction like "can't" or "shouldn't", it shows those as spelled wrong. It drives me nuts. I'm an editor for goodness sake! Usually I can spell things like that!

I do love having spell check though. It's a huge help when I'm working amidst a major brain fog. Wink
