MDJunction to me

peasha"This has been one of the most supportive places I have ever been. I found MDJ by mistaking looking for drs to help me with my many health issues and since that day over a year ago I have found a tight nit little family that keeps me going when the times are tough and offers me a place of retreat to share my successes and failures with others. I get to see the humor and seriousness of what I experience as well as the resources to learn about my health conditions. Thanks MDJ" (peasha)

My oldest daughter has started having her monthly period. Being in middle school and a very active youth, she chose to wear tampons. I bought some for her and explained to her how to do it and told her to go and try (sorry, I am not like a friend of mine who actually did it for her daughter the first time--yuck!) Anyway, it seems that she was having trouble figuring out when would be the best time to change them, so on the way to school, she told me that she had thought of a product that needed to be made for women....a tampon that vibrated when it was time to change it. OH MY GOSH, I almost had to pull over I could not see straight. I simply told her (after I was able to talk again) that it would not be a great product to be made. Oh, the innocence of kids.

As you see, it is never boring in my home.

My mother thought I had taught my daughter about the birds & bees too young, but she had brothers 5 & 10 years older than she and who knows what they'd already told her.... When my mother asked her why a woman bleeds every month, my daughter looked at her and said,"because they don't wipe right!" You said it, from the mouths of babes!

You never know, they might sell like hotcakes.W00t

You know oddly enough I remember hearing about a tampon that vibrated. It was supposed to treat menstrual cramps. Anyone else ever hear that?

I have a fifteen year old daughter and I'm going to have to pass this one by her! Though she started using tampons not long after her period began (she was on the swim team), she doesn't use them often. I expect for the same reason, her periods can be heavy and unpredictable. As well as her attention span being sporadic!!

McFoggy, do you know what made me laugh the most at your post? Hysterical!

OMG! I just got to this thread. Don't know where I was or how I missed it. That is hysterical. A vibrating Tampon. Also the one about not wiping right.

When my niece was young, her friend got her period first. My niece couldn't wait to have hers. Well when she finally became a little lady, I happened to be visiting that particular weekend. She was so proud and my mum told her that she didn't know why she wanted to get her period so bad. Now she'll have to deal with it once a month for the next 40 years. She stopped in her tracks and said "WHAT! you mean it comes more than once?"
