First of all I answered a call from a number I didn't recognize. It was the State of Oregon reminding me that I hadn't paid a speeding ticket and telling me it was being turned back over to the Courts for disposition...which means I could lose my license. I have NOT a single cent to pay it off.

Secondly, I got a letter from the Veteran's Administration. I was happy because I've been applying for jobs and lost my DD214 and was hoping it was finally here. Nope....according to them, I earned too much money in 2008 to qualify for VA care between September 2009 and September 2010! They want to be paid back a ridiculous sum because they're charging me $50 for each visit to my tdoc in 2010. I can see (if I REALLY did make too much in 2008) charging me for 2009, but 2010?? It makes no sense to me. And I didn't EARN too much, I just borrowed against my 401K in 2008 to pay off my bills after my sister died and help out my niece with some of her expenses. If I don't pay the VA off, I get no more healthcare for a year. When I joined the Navy I was promised free healthcare for LIFE. I kept my side of the bargain and then some...I signed up for 4 years and gave them 5. Now they're screwing me.

Third: About 8 last night my doorbell rang. I looked out & saw a neighbor who I vaguely recognized holding a huge mylar envelope. It was a years' worth of allergy & asthma medication from the VA which the UPS man delivered to his apartment AND MY NEIGHBOR OPENED. TG it wasn't my klonopin or my muscle relaxers or I would have been fighting the VA for them....all our buildings in this complex have their own street address and each apartment is "numbered" Apt A, B, C, D, E & F. He lives opposite me in another Apt C. Last year when I requested my 401K payout, they did the SAME thing, but I'd been watching online and when I saw it had been delivered, I went and looked & sure enough, my CHECK was between his screen door & door.

How screwed up is that? The neighbor said "My birthday is coming up and I thought it was for me"....and his MOTHER who was with him said "Your birthday isn't until December..." grrrrrrrrrrr!!!

And still no job, still no DD214 so I can't apply for any jobs that give me veteran preference and today I discovered my city is among the 10 worst cities for hiring. And the government laid of 240,000 people last year, so government work is most likely out...

It's all just too depressing....

That is all so very terrible! You have every right to be peeved, more than peeved. Sad It seems when it rains it fricken pours. My heart absolutely aches for you, I wish there was something I could do for you. I wish I could take on the DMV, I wish I could get you a fantastic job you love, I wish I could take on the government, I realllly wish I could take on the dang VA!!! You are so deserving of social security and va benefits but of course it's easier to give them to people who don't even deserve them. Ugh ok I'm going sooo off track but this just frustrates me when people are struggling who should NOT be!!! I love ya girl. Take care of yourself, I know you'd like to try to find a job but if it seems it's not happening and you still don't feel well please reconsider applying for what you are fully entitled to. Love and huge hugs, Stacey Wink

I am so sorry to hear that you are having such a rough time right now. However, I can't say that I am surprised to hear that the government is renigging on a contract. They seem to be very qualified when it comes to that sort of thing. It is hard to believe that the VA is now charging you for back visits... That's ridiculous! I wish I knew what to say. You seem to be doing all you can, applying for work, applying for SSD. Do you think you would qualify for Medicare? Have you looked into the site for insurance advice? There are a lot of lawyers that don't charge unless you win. Aggrivating as it might be, that may be your best chance. Take care of yourself. And don't forget to breath!

Hi Bobbi,

Okay, I am piss@d too!! This is all so unfair. What is wrong with people these days? I would definitely look for a lawyer that doesn't charge unless you win and go after SSD, and what the VA is doing to you. This is just so, so, wrong!!

I too wish like Stacey that I could find you a job that you love, and that I could go after the VA and DMW (forgot to mention them earlier) so you didn't have to cope with all of this.

I feel really, really, bad for you. You have had SO MUCH in your life, I wish I could make it all better. I really do. I love you too kiddo, so you now have, (lost count) 4 friends. My heart is just breaking for you Bobbi. YOU of all people DO NOT deserve this. It makes me sick. Not only am I sad, mut mad too. This just isn't fair. Please call me, and I mean that from the bottom of my heart if you want to talk or need anything. DON'T HESITATE TO CALL ME. I'm not yelling, just trying to let you know how much I mean it.

I love you sweetie. I hope you can have a good weekend through all of this. Put aside for the weekend. There is nothing you can do now, so try to put it out of your mind until Monday. I know that is much easier said than done, but please try not to think about it these two day.

I will be keeping you in my thoughts and saying lots of prayers. Soft gentle hugs coming your way too.

Lov you girl,

Christine

hey,

some days you just want to through the blankets back over your head..

Im sorry things have been going so hard and I know you are worried about the job you are in need of getting.

your neighbor sounds like an idiot..Im sure your name was on it..Im surprised it didnt have to have your signiture,do you think maybe he signed for it when you werent home?

let hope and pray things get better soon..

its so sad how the va is, you think when surving your country they would take care of you after..I read where you had wrote about getting the full time doc who will only see patients in the morning? how can that be full time..

we all have alot to give if one gets the help then some of this suffering is worth it..

remeber I am not a doctor I just say what I think

Well that all just stinks! Some days it just doesn't pay to get up on the morning. I hope you can find a reasonable solution.

hugs,
