I found out two weeks ago that my 84 yr old (but SUPER active, young @ heart, and otherwise healthy) grandpa was diagnosed with Prostate cancer. Found out yesterday that things are much worse than we all anticipated. The cancer has spread into his bones. They are saying any surgery, chemo or radiation is out (not sure why yet, assuming b/c of his age though) and he being given a different medication whose name I am unsure of at this time. Basically the out look is not good. They are saying he should have at least two yrs. He is devasted and in low spirits. If you could please send positive thoughts their way or pray for him and my grandmother (his wife of 60 yrs) I would GREATLY appreciate it.

Thank you everyone!

~Rachel

Oh Rachel hon, I'm so very sorry. Of course I will pray for him and your grandma and you too of course. Vent as much as you need to and please keep us posted. If you feel the need to talk in private, you can PM me anytime. Try and stay strong and spend as much time with them as you can.

Thanks so much Connie. I may take you up on the PM eventually. I am SO overwhelmed this week. Between going back to work fulltime, the news of my grandpa, trying to work a part time 2nd job (I want to quit but hubby is encouraging me to try a little longer) and "normal" things in life (being a wife, being a mother of 2 kids-1 has special needs, shopping, trying to keep my house clean, etc) and not feeling well myself on top of everything else kinda feeling this morning like my sanity is hanging by a thread! Yikes! Tongue

Rachele, Oh honey, Heart goes out to you massively. Praying for you, for your grandpa , as well as asking heaven to help your grandma( 60 years of marriage together) who must be beside herself with worry, yet, especially tough for each one of You at this very challenging time for you as a family. Very sad plus very shocking news for you all.

We are all here for you. You have so much to contend with right now. Hold on tightly.

(i) Angels mightily bless you Rachele, your grandpa and your grandpa, all loved ones, yet also your children. Earth angels be there for you with loving kindness, too (i) may it be so!

Praying that you will find the courage as well as the strength you need to face each new day, that much comfort will come your way from heaven and you will be held in the arms of angels.

Hugs, Clarita

Hi Rachel,

I just wanted to let you know that I will be praying for your Grandpa, your Grandma, and for you too. This is not the kind of news you needed or wanted to hear. God can work miracles though, he is still answering prayers today and he can turn it around, He can also give peace that surpasses all understanding. Definitely going to send some positive thougts your way Smile It seems like you are very close to your Grandpa, just having you with him, spending time with him, I believe is the best gift you can give him. Keep us posted please, and will be praying for you and the family in the months to come Smile

Hugs,

Kim

I'm an Advocate

Keeping him and your family in prayers. I know it is really sad, but may the Lord be with you.

Heavenly Father, I pray Lord that you be with this young family and her grandparents. Be with grampa as he tries to wrap his mind around this, give him strength,

And Lord (or everyone to whom they may worship) I lift this sweet lady up to you Lord, to cover her, surround her,and to help her and these families. AMEN!
