Anyone have issues with flashing signs, lights or banners........or beeping sounds? I don't know if my sensitivity is FMS related or something else.

Lately, I seem to be having more and more frequent and more severe reactions to flashing and beeping.

Like the !!STUPID!! flashing banner on this website right now!!! Holy cow, it makes me feel instantly angry or instantly dizzy, like I'm gonna have a seizure or something. And the beeping sounds drive me nuts...they have the same effect...I feel faint or so angry that I have to track it down and make it stop!

Anyone else out there with this bizarre happening... Please someone tell me I'm not crazy! I feel like somedays I am autistic or something...like the "special kid" in clas... ARGH!

That actually sounds like a seizure disorder, not FMS. Although I don't know about the beeping. Whenever I have an EMG, the tech starts a strobe light which I can't stand to see if it will cause a seizure but so far I haven't had a problem with it. Check with your doctor to make sure.

I have Meniere's disease so the beeping, if low enough, would drive me crazy. Right now my sinuses are acting up and when I lay down I hear what sounds like water boiling, I just took an allegra-D to see if it would calm it down. The flashing lights have always made me feel wierd. If it gets to going fast enough, I'll fall over. That's why I never went to clubs when I was younger. Strobe lights freak me out.

You aint crazy just normal.

Flashing lights bother me a lot. I think you can turn off the flashing advertisements. I had those on my site for a while and it drove me crazy! Somewhere there is a way to block pop-ups. Sounds bother me as well. I have ringing in my ears constantly. Janilee love the graphics!

I'm very sensitive to flashing lights or headlights in general when I'm driving. glares drive me crazy and sudden noises distract me and make me yell and scream, it's like my eyes and ears can't take it. even looking at the computer screen right now I have to squint my eyes, It might be Fibro related,I thought I read that somewhere also.

Thanks everyone for the info. I do think I should check with my doctor, but which one...I have so many with Crohns and FMS? And as noted above by others, I seem to have issue with loud or sudden noises too. With lights, it's only the flashing that causes issues...bright lights just hurt my eyes, but don't invoke other issues.

I have had one seizure in my life, and it was post-op about 13 yrs ago and deemed to have been medication related. None since then. It's just been in the last year or two that I've noticed this sensitivity, but since I became aware of it, it has only intensified greatly.

I suspect I am having migrane issues since I have such frequent headaches. These sensitivies could be a trigger for the headaches, I can't be sure.

I just still can't help feeling like the kids in those after school specials that go balistic and run around screening when there is a loud noise. Guess if I'm that frustrated, I should see someone.

Guess I am just relucant to see yet ANOTHER doctor and god forbid they put me on more meds...I already take about 10 different meds everyday! I'm sure there are other walking pharmecutical purses out there that can relate.

Anywho...thanks again for the words. This frustrated girl must get to bed and actually go to sleep...long day at work tomorrow.

i meant "screaming" above, not screening...someone is tired...hmmm, wonder who that could be
