I can't decide who inspires me more- my parents or my husband or my middle son. My parents raised me when they were already done with raising kids. They prepared me for what ended up being a life on my own at a very young age.

My husband has survived 3 cancers, become the man I once doubted he could be and has become my hero.

My son, Will, overcame what we were once told was an insurmountable disability to become a bright, happy, well adjusted young man with an amazing sense of duty to his fellow man and compassion.

I have a lot of influential people in my life, well, my parents are both gone but still influence how I live. Not sure who to tell you about.

Give yourself fully to God. He will use you to accomplish great things on the condition that you believe much more in His love than in your own weakness.- Mother Theresa

My father, he gives me strength when I am weak.

Your steady hands cradled me with their mighty strength, only one who uses his imagination could possibly know what you thought. Now a Parent, Guardian, and protector, to install your morals and values would be the hardest battle you’ve ever fought.

Natural fatherly instincts tell you to keep me sheltered and safe from harm. Knowing that someday you’d have to let me out of your trustworthy, compassionate arms.

Keeping your eyes wide open, running to my rescue when I’d fall and scrape my knee. Gently picking me up, dusting me off, and with concern in your eyes, setting me free.

Your principles and standards gave me the confidence to overcome any obstacles that may tumble my way. Understanding that I can depend on your unfailing love, in the twilight of the evening at the end of the day.

In moments of despair I’ve always been able to confide in you, and seek security when you hug me tight. The most vulnerable moments in my life you’ve given me the strength to stand up and fight.

I’m forever grateful to you for always being the one consistent in my life, if love equaled riches, I’d never be poor. If words could describe you, this is what they would say, Father: My Guardian and Protector, the most Reliable person I know, so Loving and Caring, there is no other I could adore more.

Forever your Little Girl.

I would have to say it's my mom. I can still hear her voice in my ear whenever it gets hard to go on. She died of cancer a few years ago and she always contributed her acceptance and attitude to her Heavenly Father. She instilled many values in me as I grew up and as most kids, I always thought she was nuts and too strict. Now I wish I had listened much more to her wise advice. I could go on and on but won't. I think if she can look down upon me she will know how much she inspired me and how much I love/d her and miss her still. If only I could live my life in a better way as she did but I let my weaknesses get to me too often.

"A pearl is a beautiful thing that is produced by an injured life. It is the tear [that results] from the injury of the oyster. The treasure of our being in this world is also produced by an injured life. If we had not been wounded, if we had not been injured, then we will not produce the pearl."
