I know that I spoke of my Great Dane giving me a lot of support with my FMS.

When I first thought of getting her, it was because I live alone and wanted a good guard dog. I grew up around Danes and just fell in love with them as a kid. What I didn't realize is what a huge support she would be. She knows my bad days. She knows when I have a headache. She knows if I am feeling dizzy (yes, she even loves to come in the shower with me) and leans against me to show that she is there and I can lean on her for support! She is only four months old and I know that for the next several years, she will be there when my fiance can't be. Now I just have to teach her how to dial 911 if something happens...LOL.

I'm going to try and upload one of her pictures from a couple weeks ago. She has grown tremendously and I will try and get some new ones up soon!

Blessings,

Dogs seem to know things and they are a great support I don't know what I would do without my dogs. I have 4 dogs and they all know when I am not doing as well but 2 have grown really special to me and they are 2 in my picture, my huskies. Cats are the same way too, if you have cats.

I agree! I have two cats and they are there but not as supportive as my Dane. She has a very special place in my heart. I've formed a bond with any of my animals such as I have with her. I can't believe the amount of support she has given me and how reliant I have become on her!

My basset knows when I don't feel well. He will lay down on the bed with me and take a nap with me. Now the cat he will get on the bed at night when I don't feel good and snuggles by me. When I reall feel bad he will lay up by my shoulder and put his paw either on my cheek or my shoulder. Sometimes he will lay on my stomachjust to make me lay there.
Be wise and dignified like the swan: he maintains his composure, staying unruffled on the surface, while always paddling like crazy underneath.

My two are trying to get me to go to bed while I type this by barking at me, I stand up and they run to the bedroom! LOL

Once a few yrs back, I passed out on the toilet (!) and when I came to, they were licking me and pawing at me. I made it to the phone to call 911 and they stayed by me the entire time the emts were there. The emts wanted them to go into another room, I said no way.

I have my daughter Gracie to support me she has seen me through sending my youngest to school, 2 neck surgeries, traction, a hysterectomy, car accident, panic atacks, death of loved ones, raising teenagers, sleepless nights of pain and anxiety, I call her my daughter because I have 2 real boy sons and no girls so she's my girl. I dress her up. I know, CRAZY! It's fun to make people laugh. She's a wire haired fox terrier. She will be 10 in November. Have any of you Fibro-family ever read Marley and Me by John Groman? It is such a great book read it with your dog at your side. It is one of my favorites.
