I have been following the story of Ike very closely as my daughters boyfriend is in Huntsville,TX. I have been remembering in faith all of those with family or friends in the path of this terrible storm. I read this morning it hit land at 3am EDT at a category 2, and by 11am EDT was centered 20 miles north northeast of Huntsville,TX. Please remember my dd boyfriend in whatever special way you choose that he will be safe, as well as Barbs sis,and all of the other people affected by Ike.

May the sun bring you new energies by day,
May the moon softly restore you by night ,
May the rain wash away any worries you may have,
And the breeze blow new strength into your being,
And then, all the days of your life,
May you walk gently through the world, and know it’s beauty and yours.

Barb, let us know as soon as you hear from your sister and all the rest of you with family and friends there. I've got two nephews there but they're further north, out of Ike's way, I hope!

I had told Annemarie to buy some bendadryl for her cats so that won't freak out and when she was reading the bottle she decided to take some and she slept through the whole thing. She just has a broken window, and no electric or water. The way they are talking they will be like this for a while. She has to keep going out to her car to recharge her cell phone. Thanks for asking and for everyone prayers. God does answer prayers!

Hi Barb ..

The Power of Prayer is definitely wonderous !!!

I m glad you have heard from your dear sister now instead of having to endure the agony of days waiting to hear .

I know you ll sleep better tonight knowing she is okay.

However, it s kinda scary to think that your sister slept thru the entire worst of the storm, Bless her heart !!!

Ike is still causing damage!! I'm in Florida, but hubby is in our other home in Cincinnati, Ohio and our home has had alittle damage and our car dealership had damage. The power is out to over 800,000 homes in the area and the energy companay states it may be a week before service is restored. The winds gusted upto 75 mph today and there has been alot of damage there. We have quite a few members in the Cincinnati area so please keep them in your thoughts.

My son is in Arkansas. He said the power went out Saturday (I think) and it may not be back on until Wednesday. This, too, is from Ike. Amazing the damage from this storm.

I'm in East Texas and Ike pretty much fizzled out by the time it got here. What's the aftermath for your sister. Everything okay?
