MDJunction to me

"In the 3 months I have been with MDJunction I have developed a sense of calmness. I now friends who do not judge me because I have been a mental mess at times. It is such a good feeling to have friends I can tell my deepest thoughts and always get back to me with their support. I have never seen a therapist for long periods of time. Right or wrong, this is the best therapy possible for me. Thanks Roy for getting this up and running and making such a difference in my life. Sara" (saralaurie)

I went to the PMC today and told the dr. everything that I could remember about my medical history in half an hour. He wrote furiously and nodded his head a lot. When I got to my lower back, I started to cry but I kept going. When I was done, I started to apologize for crying and he said no, you don't have to do that because sometimes crying does just as much good as a pill! He said "we" drs can only keep trying to find out what is wrong with a patient (or rule out different things) and it usually comes right back to fibro. So he wants to do an MRI on my lumbar region and see if something is causing me to have lumbar, sciatica and piriformis pain. Then, maybe we can go to an epidural cortisone shot because the straight injection worked for two weeks. I get the MRI next week. This is a Chinese dr. and I respect Chinese drs. very much. They have so much wisdom, in my opinion. My DIL told me that since my first cataract surgery a month ago, she has taken me to a medical appointment 19 times! Now I just received a letter from my mammo tech stating that I have to contact my PCP because something is wrong!

Oh, Barb, we'll pray it's nothing serious. What a great dr. you have there! Ask about the cortisone, though. I had an orthopedic surgeon tell me once that there was a much better medication to use for injections and that cortisone was basically a slow-acting acid which is why they can only use it so many times. This other drug can only be used a few times, too, but not because of that...I forget why...sorry. But ask.
