I am going off all my meds! Even the suboxone! I've decided that I'm going back to the work force and even though I have legitimate scripts, I don't think an employer would be too pleased to know that I'm on all that pain medication. Plus if I'm not on the meds (you know, everyone does drug tests these days), then I don't have to even tell them about the fibro and back problems or anything else. Why let them think they're getting damaged goods?

It all started because I found out there are some openings for a dream job of mine. I had been thinking that I would probably start thinking about work come the first of the year. But I'm going to give it a shot- what have I got to lose?

I realize that I might be biting of way more than I can chew, but what the heck. I won't know unless I try!

So that's what I've been doing with my time. Polishing up the resume, getting my clothes in order, plucking my brows, shaving my legs. And you know what? I can't help it, but I'm pretty excited!

Sunday is my D-day for going off the meds. Because I have interviews late next week and if all goes well, then I'll have to pee in the cup! LOL!

BTW, is anyone else as bad at that as I am? Seems like I either can't get it going when I need to, or I have to go so badly that I overflow! LOL!

Please be careful - I have first-hand experience that going off just one med cold turkey can be the most miserable hell on earth. I don't know what meds you are on or how many, but sometimes going off cold turkey can be fatal. Don't shoot the messenger, but some meds have a long half-life and may still show up in the urine. I am thrilled that you are excited - believe me, I know some days you just need to feel alive again and I truly hope you get the job. I also know how you feel about just wanting to get off everything - I would LOVE to do that and be okay. I just care about you and want you to be safe. If nothing else, go online and check on withdrawal side effects and things of that nature before you decide to quit them all. One site you might check out (not sure if any of the drugs listed on there are ones you take, but it's worth a look) is crazymeds.

Keep us posted and I wish you the very best!! mindyc

Mindy, thank you! That's very, very sweet of you to be so concerned about me. However, everything that I'm on I have gone off from before cold turkey and the only thing that happened was some discomfort. Of course, I only stayed off them for a week, too. This time the intent is to stay off them for good. The only thing I'm worried about is fibro pain returning.

And I did check everything on line to see how long it takes to get out of the system. I'm good to go. Thankfully, nobody does hair testing!! I'd have to pull a Britney and shave my head! LOL!
