I have a hard time shopping too. Just going outside makes my head hurt so bad. Then walking into the store kills me and I haven't even started shopping yet!

I usually have a list and a big stack of coupons. I love to see the deals we can get. Fortunately, my husband always goes too. He takes over when I get overwhelmed and can't remember what I wanted to get. I don't deal well with crowds and I just can't focus on anything.

By the time I get home I have to go to bed and everyone else has to put the stuff away. One day I may break down and use an electric cart. The problem is that I get so disoriented I don't think I could steer it without running into something. That's why I can't drive a car. So that leaves a wheelchair which my husband keeps saying he is getting me. Just thinking about it makes me cry.

Oh my god grocery shopping is like hell on earth!!! I always, without fail, write a list of what we need otherwise i wouldnt have a clue thanks to the fibro fog BUT I always, without fail, forget the damn thing Then we get there (i always take the other half, for heavy lifting ) & the only trolleys left are the dodgy ones that always turn left, i usually hold onto the trolley as we're walking round to give me some support but then it starts to get too heavy Over here in the UK we have a grocery shop called Tesco ( ), i swear they only employ people who never smile! Every time we go they are soooo moody, they always cut in front of you, they always leave their goods trolley in your way Aaaaaargh!!!!! I hate grocery shopping!!!!!!

{{{gentle hugs}}} Emma

"When things go wrong and they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit
Rest if you must, but dont you quit.

Success is failure turned inside out,
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you can never tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems afar.
So, stick to the fight when you're hardest hit,
Its when things go wrong when you mustn't quit"

I have run into displays that Walmart has set up. I have driven into the glass in the freezer section. Someone has a problem it is there problem, not mine.

You know, I've seen people using those little scooter baskets in Kroger and the other stores around town. I think it's a shame that they are not the right height to get something from the top of the shelf or the bottom of the shelf or even from the aisle cases. I went around the entire store with this lady once making sure she could get what she wanted when she couldn't reach it. I've also seen people who are just sitting there waiting for someone to help them. Maybe the store should have someone to go along with these people when they shop so the shoppings easier for them.

Oh and Emma. The WalMart where my brother lives makes their employees wear this thing with a dollar sticking out of it. If you see an employee without a smile on their face, you get to pluck the dollar out of the little pocket. If the dollar fails to come back at the end of the shift, you get one strike against you. Three strikes you are out!!!

Wow, I couldn't agree more that grocery shopping is hell on earth. I have fibro, and back problems and whenever I lift something up that is too heavy, there goes my sciatica pain and my tendonitis pain in my right elbow! It gets me down too, and just the mere thought of having to go to the supermarket and buy stuff overwhelms me and I will do anything to procrastinate going until my husband can come with me and do all the lifting and reaching.

Sometimes I will just order groceries on-line and get them delivered for a rather inexpensive fee. Only problem there is that the fruits and veggies are not the best, and I'd rather buy them from a local farm stand when I can, like I just did today.

Why can't all cashiers smile? Wouldn't it make them happier too?

Would you smile making little money and have all kinds of people happy, sad, smelly, rude, dirty. There are probably more. They probably smile when it is quitting time and especially payday.

Don't for get sweatty Barb. By the time I get thru WalMart, I'm dripping. One check out lady looked at me and said "Hotflash?"

So I said Yep. Paid her, went to my car and turned the A/C on full blast.

I just know that when my daughter was a teenager, she was a cashier at A&P, and always had a smile on her fact. Of course, many of the customers were rude and nasty to her, but at the time, she kept her smile. It is when she doesn't smile that I really worry about her.

I try to do grocery or any kind of shopping in short trips, and I always take at least the hubby and one of the teens. I hate crowds, noise, and the lights at the stores which give me migraines I need help getting up the steps once we get home and then I sit in the kitchen and supervise the putting away of everything.

May the sun bring you new energies by day,
May the moon softly restore you by night ,
May the rain wash away any worries you may have,
And the breeze blow new strength into your being,
And then, all the days of your life,
May you walk gently through the world, and know it’s beauty and yours.
