OK, so here I go...I'm venting, I'm ranting... Why, oh why does the supermarket have to be such a literal pain..in the back, in the butt, in my feet...??? I love how the produce feels so cold it hurts my hands and of course it's all icky looking on the top so I have to really poke around to find something I want to pay good money for. And then you have those people who just don't realize what a difficult chore it is to push a full cart around them with NO room on either side because they are SITTING RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE WITH A DISPLAY ON EITHER SIDE OF THEM!!! Lady, if you only knew how easily I could take you out just based on my lousy coordination alone! And then the yogurt, which is on sale and supposed to be good for my IBS, of course hasn't been refilled and is all the way in the BACK of the top shelf! And then the fog makes you remember a bunch of stuff in aisles you've already been in so you have to BACKTRACK and take an extra 20 minutes longer when all you want to do is check out and go home. But you can't forget the special request your hubby made! Especially when he is home with the baby as she's screaming at him because Mommy is late and her dinner is late and Daddy doesn't know what he's doing at dinnertime. And then you get up front...oh, the bagging!!! If you let the kid do it, your tomatoes end up under bottles of juice and your bread ends up looking more like pitas as it's found under the laundry detergent. It's a gamble just to get a whole egg home in one piece! But if you tell them you'll bag it yourself, you end up with a nasty look and then have to do even more lifting and bending than just emptying the cart requires! And then if you ask them to bag it lightly for you because you can't lift heavy stuff, you get a box of cereal or tissues or single bottle of soda in every single bag! How many trips does this guy think I want to make from the car to the door?!?

Pant, pant, pant....OK, Jeerie, Breathe!!!! DDDEEEEEEPPPPPP BBBRRRREEAAATTTHHSSSS! (Anybody figure out what I did tonight?)

Thanks for listening to me rant about it! I've been hurting terribly and both hubby and baby are sound asleep. If I scream out loud like I want to, well, it's just not a good idea for anyone here. I used to enjoy grocery shopping. Hubby calls me the coupon queen and I would get excited about how much "free stuff" I could feel like I was getting by saving so much money. Oh, the good old days!

I had that same experience Sunday. Well, not totally....Honey was there to help. But man, by the time we were done, I needed a nap and some neurontin. What a pain you had! Now go take a warm bath and get some rest!!!!

Oh Jeerie! You picked my favorite gripe, complaint, frustration, irritation, vent, rant, etc.!!!!

I always have to have a family member go with me. I can't put everything into the cart, onto the check-out counter, back into the cart, then into the car, carry them into the house, and then put them away. Geesh! I'm exhausted just thinking about it!

One of my biggest grocery store complaints is that the half-gallon milk is on the top shelf. We've only been buying it by the half-gallons because now-a-days, it seems to go rotten even before the date on the container. Anyway, what disabled person and/or elder can get lift their arm up to that top shelf, let-a-lone reach 'way' back there to get one?!

Thanks for letting me vent and rant with you!

Imagine all that, and I must add the fact that I cannot look up above my head or below my knees. Of course, the soups I need are always on the top shelf. Ane since I cannot trust the strength in my hands, it is like "Look out down below"! I have quit going without my husband or my kids. It is just too hard. Thank goodness I have a Dollar General right up the road.

Fibroforever, I'm glad to be of service! My hubby went with me on Sat, but I'm a total "sales circular" shopper and when I see stuff we need really cheap (today they had toothbrushes for 77 cents - who can't turn that down?!?)

He doesn't like going to all the stores. Says it's a waste of gas. I saw when we have all the stores 3-10 minutes of driving away, you're not using THAT much gas! I mean the cost of baby formula alone would fill my car past half a tank! since I'm so stubborn I went to two myself tonight. I'm paying for it but at least we have a full fridge and he seems happy about that. Go figure!

Autumnskye, I know what you mean about admitting you need the help. My husband hates going to the store. Think we're there too long, but price comparison shopping does take a little bit of extra time, and of course going back to the aisles where you forgot something extends the trip.

Just last week I told him,"And do you think I like having to ask you for help?"

It was extremely tough yesterday because we were supposed to go out shopping for baby clothes for the cooler days. He was too tired and wants to now go today. Of course since it's Sat the mall will be more crowded which I wanted to avoid. I wasn't upset at him for putting if off...I was mad at me and my body. I so want to be one of those moms who can just put the baby in the car and drive off to wherever we need to go!!!

Well, I am one of the lucky ones. My husband has always done the food shopping for the last 27 years. Before I got my own scooter I always used what the store had to offer. I can not stand for long periods of time and I am not ashamed of that. I have health issues and if people what to stare or talk about me let them. I did not ask for Fibromyalgia and since for some reason I was picked to have it, I try to make life on myself and my family easier. If it means a scooter at the store than that's what I do. When I didn't have my scooter and we wanted to go to something called market days downtown we rented for a wheelchair from the pharmacy for $20.00 a week. I really only needed it for the one day, but since I had it we went to store and where ever we wanted and I used the wheelchair.
