My 7 year old son said he was going to grow up to be a doctor and take care of me,

Is it so obvious even a little boy can see,

See my pain and my agony.

I smile and say mommy is just fine,

He laughs and says mom I know you don't whine,

but you are far from fine.

My 3 year old comes up and says where are the owies today,

Isn't it funny how even a 3 year old knows about my day,

And thinks it's a game to find mommies owies that way.

I laugh and say my darling son,

Let's it's running from mommies toes through mommies tongue,

Let's try and catch it, isn't this fun!

In the evenings my speech starts to slur,

My mind tends to blur,

and the smallest touch hurts even from my puppies soft fur.

The boys lay their heads down to sleep,

I tell them they are the sweetest boys as I kiss them on the cheek,

I try and go to bed but can only weep.

This fibromyalgia may slow me down, but I will still fight,

Always and forever with all my might,

This is my life fibromyalgia, you can't take it from me!

I love it and will hold on so tight!

Sometimes it's hard to walk, talk, or even know what tomorrow brings. But as long as I have a smile on my face I can give a little bit of sunshine!
