 They both have messengers in them Kathy, I'm freespirit102150 on yahoo messenger and moonbeam_opal on the My space Instand messenger.

I think yahoo messenger is easier to use than the my space one but then I haven't really used the my space messenger yet.

 Well great Jan, now you tell me there is a myspace messenger....heck I can't even add music to my myspace page let alone do a messenger there...I don't even know where you would find it......all kinds of new fangled things

 mcbeth, I have been trying to add music, too, but I found out you can only add music to MySpace from MySpace's choices. You have to find your author or band and download from there. The two that I have tried to download haven't given MySpace permission yet. <sigh> lol

My DD set my page up, I gave her my password and told her what I wanted.

What really PO's me is that a couple of years ago I would have been showing her how to do it.

 LOL I used to be called all the time to come over and fix someones computer that they screwed up. Now I'm lucky if I know how to turn mine on.

I had a hard time trying to download music on My Space and the one I did finally downloaded was taken off by the band. I still can only get one to play and I've seen othe peoples who had a list under their music boxes on their profile page.

What I found is that you can go to the band groups myspace web page from my space and sometimes they have the songs they want you to download there just press add.

 Yahoo Messenger is not like MySpace. It is not a website. It is a chat program that you download. Then you can add frinds and chat with each other in real time, either by typing, or voice chat or pc to pc calls. The voice chat does not work well with Vista...yet.

There are many Yahoo chatrooms about just about any subject, but frankly, the majority of them don't ever talk about the topic. They just chat. And within the last two years, the bots have taken over and a lot of rooms have been closed.

However, you can have conference chats so that you can talk to more than one of your friends at a time...you can all chat together.

I've been a chatter for many years. Can you tell?

 myspace came out with an IM program, I believe that's what they're referring to. I use it. Actually, I use 5 separate IM programs, so I use Pidgin, which has them all rolled into one program, which makes things SO much easier. And cleaner!

 Ahh, now Pidgin is a new one to me. Must be an updated version of .....oh, you know...the one I can't think of right now. At any rate, I just stick to messy now. I don't have the time or patience for setting up a MySpace account. And I got pissed off enough at the bot invasion that I don't bother with rooms anymore.

Anyway, thanks for the heads up.

On myspace if you want music go to www.playlist.com, you will get a free player and all the music you want it will tell you how to put it on your myspace. There is no waiting you just add the player and music and BAM there it is. www.myspace.com/mbradford4228

 If you've heard of Trillian, it's the same deal. Pidgin supports something like 10-15 chat programs, maybe more. If you have a myspace account, it's just a matter of downloading the myspace IM client, since you'll already have a login. I've got msn (kmariem), AIM (Kestral411), yahoo (pegasuspagan), myspaceIM (nalozhnitsa)*, and google talk.

*for those curious, Nalozhnitsa is Russian for "concubine". I was a Russian Linguist when I was active duty.
