I hope everyone is well and prepared. Tropical storm Fay is heading our way. As we get closer it appears that she will stay a tropical storm at worse a Cat. 1 hurricane. I know we have alot of Floridians spead out so I just wanted to touch base with everyone. I personally am in one of the direct lines of fire for the storm. I live in the Charlote Harbor area for those of you that remember hurricane Charlie that is where it came ashore. while this is by no means a "Charlie" it certaininly brings back bad memories. So Please everyone be save. If your not prepared please get prepared. Check in when able to let us know your ok. I'll see ya on the other side of the storm

Karen

I am in the Keys and we got hit yesterday with the rain and wind. We were pretty well prepared with our stockpile, generator and hurricane shutters.

We sure needed the rain! The downside is that I feel like I have been hit by a truck. I guess I expected that though.

The worst is over. The power went out a few times but didn't stay off for long. We'll still see rain on and off all day but for the most part everything here is pretty good.

Glad you made it through. I've been through one hurricane in NJ when I was a little girl and since then storms have always exhilarated (sp?) me but I don't think I could live with the barrage of storms you get in FLA. I definitely couldn't live in Tornado Alley either but I lived in CA for 50 years and never experienced a terrible earthquake but I was afraid of them. We had a great lightning and thunderstorm here last night and I went outside to watch it. Nature can be awesome. I didn't have any unusual pain from it though.

Pat you sound like me. I love the storms especially the ones coming from the open seas. I lived in Ca for awhile and only felt about 4 earthquakes. One was the Coalinga earthquake in 1983. We didn't live there but we were driving thru it at the time the quake hit.

I'm glad ya made it thru the Hurricane Kat.

I am a storm lover. One time we had this storm and it was bad and I wanted to be on the porch all of a sudden my husband grab me by the shoulders and yelled get in here. As soon as I was inside a tree fell where I was standing. This tree was a big tree. We had no power for a couple of days. I am still here thanks to Ron.
