Hi Everyone,

Wow!!! There have been so many new people to join the forum and I'd like to extend a very warm welcome to all of themSmile

It has been so long since I've been able to post here regularly...I hope to be able to get caught up with everyone soon.

VBS went very well this year and we've had our first meeting with the state DOT rep in regards to the state buying our home. We should hear more very soon.

My Dad's health has continued to deteriorate. After weeks of antiobiotics, xrays, blood work and a CT scan it has been determined that my Dad has congestive heart failure. The diuretic seems to be working well, my Dad lost a little over 10 pounds in less than 24 hours...10 pounds of fluid that had settled around his lungs and throughout other parts of his body.

My Mom is still in the midst of a pretty bad flare up. Of course, the stress of being worried about my dad doesn't help. She received a call Friday that her liver enzymes are too high. Her rheumy feels a reduction in Celebrex dosage will help get those enzymes back to normal. My mom just (Mon, Aug 4th) received her 5th Remicaid infusion. This fifth treatment (according to the rheumy) will be the deciding factor as to whether or not this treatment is going to be effective.

My DH will be having knee surgery next Tuesday (Aug. 12th) to repair torn cartilage and torn ACL ligament. The ortho doc is saying DH will be out of work for six weeks.

I wish you all peace and rest and pain free daysSmile

Sorry to hear your family is having health troubles--and all at once YIKES!! I had my ACL surgically repaired 6 years ago. Not a fun experience, but he has you to help him through all of it. He is a lucky guy! You are in my thoughts.

Thank you so much for all of your well wishes and warm thoughtsSmile!!

DH's surgery went well...he has his post op appointment this afternoon. We ended up with some really great news: the ortho surgeon said the MRI had indicated a torn ACL, BUT when he got inside DH's knee the ACL was completely intact...AWESOME! The doctor 'fixed' the cartilage and examined exactly how bad the arthritis is, etc.

My Dad is still going through all the necessary appts/evaluations required to come up with an effective treatment plan. A sleep study revealed he has central sleep apnea. He has been fitted for a BiPap machine and it should be set up in his home very soon.

The fluid pill continues to work and my Dad's breathing is so much better! Previous prostate problems, however, have made it impossible for his body to handle the extra urine output...so, he's had to have a catheter inserted.

Gotta go for now, today is my daughter's first day of schoolSmile!

Thanks again for all of your thoughts, prayers & well wishes!!
