If people really want help over the Internet, they need to provide the kind of information in the flyer. The vitals, of course, where she went missing from - is her home in Alaska or Texas? I don't know what state Broome County is in. Name, age, photo, contact information, and links to news sources that would authenticate the case. All your message says is that Britany disappeared from her home and leaves teenaged children. I assume her husband has been ruled out as a suspect.

Take a look at Snoops, and type in Missing Persons, and you'll see a lot of hoaxes that have taken a lot of time from tens of thousands of people. Here's a link to one:

This email says the girl went missing "two weeks ago," but there's no date given, and the email has circulated since 2006.

I have read the hoax e-mails before and can't believe that anyone would find it remotely humorous. It's been 5 months now and we still have no idea what happened to Bethanie. All family has been ruled out so to speak, but we have nowhere to turn. The local police have no leads and at this time have severly cut back on the amount of people dedicated to her case. It is heartbreaking.

I posted this here because as a family we don't know what to do so we are grasping at anything we can. We have joined the missing persons tour and continue to hold benefits in her honor. If you would like additional information you can google Bethanie Dougherty and it should bring up what has been put out via the media. There have been numerous fundraisers to raise money for her reward as well as to help with the care for her children, I AM NOT ASKING FOR THAT, I would like to make that clear. I am simply asking for your prayers and thoughts that she return home and that her children come out of this as best they can.
