Does anyone else's hair fall out? Mine started falling out about a year and a half ago and I can't figure out why. I thought it was some mousse I had been putting in it but I stopped using it and it didn't help. I have tried changing shampoos and all kinds of stuff and it has not helped. The lady who trims my hair said it could be the meds. and also that I might need vitamins. I started taking the vits. but it has not helped. I lose so much hair that it is a wonder that I have any left.

Also if you have any helpful hints on how to stop the hair loss I am all ears. Thanks

We are naturally supposed to lose 150 hairs a day, but yes I have noticed an increase in the amount of hair that I notice falling out. I had a child 9 months ago so it could be connected to that, who knows!

Could be low testosterone or low DHEA levels. Since begining hormone treatment my hair has gotten thicker and I have quit losing hair. Get your hormone levels checked and see if that is an issue for you too. A simple blood test will tell you if your levels are low.

ah the hair loss mine has gotton worse over the years I thought it was do to stress because that can play a roll mine is in the front top so its very noticable so many diffrent things can play a part vit, hormons, stress, meds, heritary, over prossesing, mri, xrays, blah blah,I even tried hair growth but it gave me head aches dont know why, when I'm stressed I rub my hair or twist it, I have actually grown it long because I was trying to hide it also colored it light, then forgot why I colored it light so I darkened it (to hard to keep up light) looked in the mirror and said thats why duh so I'll have to lighten it again,

The worst is when yyou are drying your legs and behind them you have these clumps of hair. Speaking from experience. My head has been itching like crazy for the last couple of days but the only new medicine is a new antidepressant Pristiq. i have never got along with an antidepressant and the doctors no this. But they keep trying. I think I need the ect treatment. No more fooling around.

When my hair falls out it goes in clumps. I had a 4x4 1/2 centimeter circle of hair fall out once. The dermatologist did 24 injections into that spot in a grid pattern once a month for 3 months to make it grow back faster. Since then every once in a while I lose another patch...but these ones are much smaller. They said it was alopitia areata or something...some women with Lupus told me to not get the injections anymore because eventually it quits growing back. So I let it just grow back on its own. Right now I don't have any bald spots.

Hi Jan and All,

Hair loss is not new to me but I always just attributed it to my thyroid disorder never the Fibro. See, I have learned something new today !!!

I would discuss it with my dr. next time if I were you. It IS very aggravating !!!

I have experience with hair loss but I just notice a little coming out now and then. I had hair loss when I had chemo. I never went bald, as God blessed me with a very thick head of hair. But I remember like it was yesterday when I woke up every morning and kept seeing globs of hair on my pillow and was so afraid to look in the mirror. I was only 24. I would only brush my hair once a day, thats it, no more. And I used Jojoba Oil shampoo and took extra vitamins. I swore by that shampoo. Got it at GNC.
