I just wanted everyone to know, that I am not sure how long I will be off line. My wonderful DH was playing around on the computer and we now has a nasty virus I am having trouble getting deleted.

Just letting everyone no so that no one starts getting worried.

I hope to be back soon.

What virus do you have dragonfly? Some times if you go to this website for symantec, you can find a fix it tool to get rid of the virus. http://www.symantec.com/norton/security_response/ removaltools.jsp

Hope it helps. It's helped me many times.

Thank you for the information. Problem is I was not able to get back online to see what you all had posted. I wiped my hard drive clean and reformatted it all over again. I am very happy to be back online.

Welcome back. After I wrote that post, I thought what if she can't get back on line to see it. DUH! Blonde moment. I ended up getting that email from UPS though. It had a bad virus in it so anything you get from UPS saying they couldn't deliver a package, delete it immediately.

I know how I got it. My "wonderful" dh decided to get online and look around. He almost never uses the computer unless I set up what ever he wants to do and he does nothing else. He down loaded something without asking me first. The mess I was in said I had 10 threats and 625 infected files. after I don't know how many hours, I just got the operating systems disk and wiped my hard drive clean and reloaded my hard drive. I thought it was best to do that before it got to far into my hard drive. we don't have the money for a new one. Now is the fun of finding all of my favorites and starting over from nothing. I lost everything I had in my computer. Good thing that I backed up all the pictures I have of the kids and the last Christmas we had with my Grandfather. If I have learned anything from this, it is to back up my files more often.

WOW, that sounds like what my DH would do. He woke me up out of a deep sleep the other week. He said that he won an IPOD and wanted me to see what he had to do to get it. WELL!!! I told him you don't win anything on the computer unless you join something. He swore to me he didn't touch anything but I got a bill for $16.95 telling me he joined Value Plus Monthly. I had some tough explaining to do to have it removed from my bill. So much for him ever touching the computer again.
