My cat is jealous of my computer. I swear everytime I sit down here, all of a sudden there he is. He sits right between my arms and blocks my view so I can't see the screen.

He is the strangest animal I've ever had, and I'm a cat lover from way back.

I adopted him from the pound a couple years ago, he was around 4 yrs at the time.

He is so sweet and playful but he has some very irrating habits.

He refuses to eat or drink out of a bowl. I'm serious! He will pick the dry food up in his mouth and carry it to the living room rug, drop it and then begin to eat. He can carry 4 or 5 nuggets at a time.

He will only drink water out of a cup and this is the most annoying habit because he is constanly spilling whatever I'm drinking by sticking his head in the glass. You cannot leave a glass unattended anywhere in the house. I found a heavy glass beer mug that has a wide enough mouth and is too heavy to tip for him to slurp out of. But he still tries to tip it over every chance he gets.

Have you every heard of such a thing? Did someone have to train him to be this way?

No one had to train him to be the way he is he's a cat lots of people have had the same problem with their cat drinking out of a glass or cup usually the one that you are going to use.My cat also thinks that I should share food with him he likes teddy bear biscuits(cookies) so if you sit and have a cup of tea and a biscuit then you are expected to share, after all he shares the mice that he catches. There was an article in the cat fanciers magazine recently and the problem seems to be fairly common.

I am not a big cat person however where I work we have a house cat and HE THINKS i'm a cat person. every night when I sit down to do paperwork he gets on the desk and does this little stretching act all over my papers so I have no choice but to pet him. If that doesn't work he actually head -butts me to get my attention or my personal favorite he will try and take my pen out of my hand while I'm writing. As far as your cat taking his food elsewhere to eat maybe that comes from being at a pound. maybe they had a community bowl and he had to move his food to eat in peace. just a thought

I know how you feel. Here's mine trying to read an email I was writing to my sister. Sometimes she'll get up and stretch and sit back down facing me and just stare knowing fully well that I can't see the screen. Most of the time she just sleeps infront of the monitor with one paw on the keyboard. Her name it Tootsie and we got her from the pound. She won't eat out of anything but white bowls.

Janilee, that is such a funny pict. And the white bowl thing.....

I've never shared food with my cat so he is not a beggar like some cats I've had.

I forgot to mention another habit of his that he came home from the pound with. As soon as I turn off the light to go to bed he immediately leaves the room. This I'm very happy about because I don't want the hairy beast on my bed since it's so difficult for me to change my linens.

He goes and sleeps in the spare room on a towel that I put on the futon in there. So I guess you could say he has his own bedroom. Tee hee

My cat Chloe is usually there when I'm online...she is HUGE and she lays on top of the computer desk, sometimes sitting up and looking at the screen. Mainly though she just likes being in the way of the keyboard, getting her white fur all over the keys and sometimes leaning against the keys and causing havoc while I'm trying to type or use the mouse. If I try to move her slightly, she gives out this disgusted little moan, as if I am inconveniencing her too much. She is a diva...I took her in as a stray a couple of years ago. She looked up at me through my dining room window and meowed non stop until I finally gave in and took her in. Now she is the queen of the house and the rest of my cats. She prefers drinking out of a cup as well, mine included. I also have a male who drinks out of the bathtub faucet...he can turn it on with his paw. This same ornery male overturns every cup with liquid in it he can find, so I don't dare leave any lying around unless I want to have to clean it up. They do keep me entertained, however!

Great pictures!! I love cats...

I once had a great cat/dog/bear named Albert. He was huge and smelly and loved to play fetch. He wouldn't bathe himself so he stunk unless I'd stick him in the tub (which he seemed to enjoy) or the other cat would get disgusted & give him a bath.

Albert would sit next to the keyboard and stare at me. Then, ever so sssslllloooowwwly he'd start walking across the keyboard, like "if I move slowly enough she won't even realize I'm there..." and every single time I'd LOL and pick him up and give him a hug...which he hated.......

He was a great all-around pet. I swear to god I heard him bark once.

I have 3 cats and a dog. One cat loves to jump up on the computer desk and flop over on her back so I will rub her belly. No one else can touch her. She's a beautiful tortoise shell. If I am eating at my desk, my dog comes in very quietly and puts her nose on my knee. She's not begging out loud, but she's begging. Did you know that gold fish beg? I have two that started out as feeder fish and are now about 8" long!

I have 2 cats and getting a 3rd one. The two I have now are real characters, the oldest one just loves when I play poker on my computer. She comes bounding over when she hears the site, the cards and chips sound. She follows the mouse on the screen when I play...I literally have to maneuver around and under her to reach the mouse to play. She even makes my bets for me. The other one just plops herself down on my keyboard. Between all that fur, her plumpness, I can't find my keyboard at all. Her new name has become Catzilla.
