(Per Kathy's request- This post has been changed to the Off Topic Lounge.)

o.k. - we all know different things about different people.

Lets try this game for a while. I',m going to start by picking out my person first. Then, that person if they want too - and only if they want to can tell us anything about themselves that would help us to get to know each other better. I'm even going to start a folder called members BIO. That way if I ever need to refer back before I ask how their ask how Cindy their daughter is doing when she doesn't even have any children

Write anything about yourself (within the by laws of the forums. Were you in the band, did you cheer, what was your first date like, if married - how afraid of meeting the future inlaws as well as how your mate was in meeting yours. Happy moments, gleeful moments. All about you. You can add that you got married, kids, fibro etc, - but I would think it would be more fun to find out about you as a young girl/boy; your dating years; your prom; your favorite subject, your favorite food, the silliest thing you ever did, the most embarrassing thing you ever did, just FUN stuff. I know it is very important that we share our health issues to one another, and the newbies need that information. But I think it would be so much fun. If possible (and for some it may not be) but if possible lets leave as much of the sad stuff and angry stuff out. If the person you pick doesn't want to play then she if she would like to at least pick someone else to tell their "bio" Tell us all that you can - just remember 'forum rules' Let 'er rip tater chips and lets have lots of fun with this!!!

>>>> Since I started I going to ask mammaordy to start.

Tell us 'ALL ABOUT YOU". Then it's your turn to call on someone.

Thanks everyone - lets give this a real try - I think it could be lots of fun~~~~KATHY

((((HUGS))) Kathy

we all need "splashes" of JOY in the cesspools of life

Sorry I have been offline a few days, just saw this post!

Ok, so EVERYTHING about me?? Well, lets see. I was a cheerleader and in drill team in high school, had a steady boyfriend, "pre-engaged" in my junior year, engaged in my senior year, then he dumped me! So I went out, and one night at a bar, I met my husband. Yes a bar! We hit it off immediately. My family couldnt believe we announced our engagement only 7 months after we met. But we have been married now for 32 years! We have one son, who is the light of our life. He is married to Heather, and they have a son, our first grandson, Johnny T. He is almost 20 months old. I love being a grandma! In high school when everyone always was saying what they wanted to be when they finished school, there were the ppl who wanted to be nurses, teachers, etc. All I ever said was I want to be a Mom and then a Grandma! I love that role! I like to think I take after my own grandma, who practicaly raised me. She died at age 95 last year. She was the most maternal person I have ever seen, and I always want to make sure I emulate her.

John and I got married July 4, 1976. I wanted to start a family right away. He came home from work one day and I said oh by the way I stopped my birth control, we are going to make a baby! LOL I became pregnant the first month of trying. I was a stay at home mom until Johnny was 13 years old, then I started my career in health care.

Before all that, and I wont bore you with the details, I had breast cancer at the age of 24, when Johnny was just 3 years old. It was grueling, one year of chemo, and three months of radiation. It had spread to my lymph nodes. After the mastectomy I had a total hysterectomy. So no more kids for us! But I got to have my wonderful son Johnny and live for him!

In between all that, I had a few other operations, breast reconstructions and thyroid removal. I started having fibro symptoms in the 80s. The rheumatologist diagnosed me right away. Since I worked for doctors, they usually just gave me the meds I needed. Mostly just needed something to sleep and something for pain. Occasionally I had some physical therapy. I guess I am a survivor, my family thinks I am quite something to have kicked all these diseases! LOL

Anyway, when I was a child, I was a very shy young girl. My family moved around a lot, and I didnt make friends easily, so I stayed to myself. I loved to read and still do. I never felt like I was lonely so I guess I liked keeping to myself.

I loved high school! I went to three proms, as my boyfriend was a year younger than me! The first one was so glamorous, I wore a high neck dark navy blue dress, with my hair all done up on my head. I look now at the pics and what a sight! LOL

The next year I went for the sexy look! LOL I had a glam silk mauroon dress with a low front and low back. I had a great figure back then, so I could wear just about anything, speaking of which, remember hot pants?? Well I got in trouble at school in my junior year because I showed up for school in red hot pants and a black see through blouse with black bra! HAHA. They called my grandpa to come get me!! It was hilarious because he was very influential in our town, and when he got there, he looked at me and asked the principal what is the problem, I saw her leave this way this morning! She is a young person, expressing herself, and she looks damn good. YEAH, GO GRANDPA! He said come on, you can come home for the day, i will take you to lunch! LOL It was funny!

I made good grades in school, I loved all the English classes, literature and short story were my faves!

As far as food, my fave meal is fried chicken, corn on the cob, baked beans and salad. Chocolate cake for dessert! YUM. Favorite food is flat out Hostess Chocolate Cupcakes with a cold glass of milk. It is like comfort food for me, reminds me of my childhood, I guess.

I am a dog person. Yes one of those crazy ones! And I never thought I would be. But for Valentines Day 5 yrs ago, my hubby got me a little Shih Tzu, Ziggy. I was so surprised. Then 8 months later I got another one, Nemo. I pamper and spoil them like they are little kids. They get more haircuts than me, and theirs cost $50 each, which I gladly pay once a month. I can barely get to Great Clips for me at $9.99! I love them though, they are always there for me.

Hmm the silliest thing I ever did was....and this can go with the most embarasing thing I ever did: once, when we were around 25ish, we had a party at our house, and I got really drunk and I danced on our kitchen table, while a card game was going on! Funny thing is, they kept on playing! Thank God it was just my cousins and really dear friends.

In 2000, after our son was out on his own, John and I moved to North Carolina, to the beach. We had a little beach cottage and the ocean was our back yard. It was awesome the first 6 months, then we had to get jobs!~ LOL It was still cool but I missed being near my son and my fam back in Ohio, and in 06 we moved back. So very glad to be back.

But glad I got to mark something off my always wanted to do list.

OK! Well NOW I am going to call on my dearest friend, Sandi, to tell us all about her.

I am so not good at this.

I have a small family. My mother and dad who live very close to me. I have a brother in Californina, a brother in West Virgina and a sister in Texas. We grew up very close. We lived near a golf course and in the summer we spent our time searching for golf balls to sell back to the golfers and in the winters we spent out time sled riding on the golf course. It is a wonder we are alive with the things that we did.

I grew up in Western Maryland so my family camped and fished and spent lots of time outdoors. I loved to ski and ice skate.

I have three children. Laura is 24 and she has my first grandchild whose name is Silas. I also have a daughter, Claire who is starting college in the fall and has been chosen to be a resident assistant at her college. This is a very big honor.

I have a son, Spencer who is 6'5'' and still growing. He is active in all sports. He and Claire will be playing sports in the fall. Spencer will be playing football, basketball and baseball at his high school and Claire has been asked to play softball for her college.

My husband and I love to spend time with Silas. It is hard to believe you can love someone so much. He is a dollbaby. His smile brightens even my most painful day. Laura and I are very close and she brings Silas over when I don't feel good to help me.

I am an animal lover and I rescue anything I can. I have a shi tzu named Annabelle Scott, and beagle snauzer mix whose name is Parker James and a little tiny chihuahua named, Miguel Alejuandro. I also have three cats: Miss Diamond Kitty, Nichalos, and Chole with a P. The P is because we thought he was a girl until I say the penis and then I knew he was a he, but he was used to the name. All three dogs sleep with Scctt and I. I also have a grand-dog named Jackson Thomas.

My husband and I have been married almost 7 years. We were married New Years Day 2001. I made him wait until the first of the year so he didn't mess up my tax breaks. I used the tax money to put central air in the house. He understood.

I am a Registered Respiratory Therapist and a Registered Nurse. I loved my job and I am very sad that I have had to leave my profession. I have alot of trouble tolerating the fibro fog and the drug induced fog because I used to be very bright and articulate. I could wallpaper and drywall. I collected antiques adn have several cool pieces.

I used to pick through peoples trash. There is alot of good stuff in peoples garbage. (did you know you have to ask for that stuff, even though they threw it away)--crazy!

I am a Christian and go to a really cool church. It is small and the minister is my age and he loves the Pirates and the Steelers. My children go to Catholic school so we go to Catholic church too.

I like Jason Bay of the Pirates, Willie Parker from the Steelers and Jimmy Johnson from Nascar.

My mother and I spend alot of time together. She is my rock. She knows how hard it has been for me to give up my career. She takes me out for the day, so I am not lonely. I don't know what I would do without her.

I have two friends besides my friends here. They are both nurses. They call me and plan things for us to do. We have been friends for many years.

Scott and I are working very hard to save our house. I need to get my disability passed. We are calling our State Representatives and anyone that can help us.

Thats about it for me---

I call on my dear friend Barbara

MY STORY – My name is Barbara Kubacki to pronounce my last name remember it rhythms with wacky. I am the middle of 5 children. They called me pishy eyes when I was young because I cried a lot. Well, when you are the middle you do not get what everyone else gets. My father died at the age of 43 massive heart attack. My mother died at the age of 52 from Cancer.

Back in 1980 I was working in this office building and I would get on the elevator with this cute guy. My girlfriend and I were going to se Billy Joel at Madison Square garden and she like the cute guy on the elevator. She asked him to go to the concert but he said that he was breaking up with his girlfriend so he couldn’t go. The next day we stood out side his office so he would come out and I could ask him to go to lunch with us because my friend liked him. He said yes and we went for Chinese food. On the way back I was in the back seat and my girlfriend drove and the cute guy was in the passenger seat. I said that I was going to be bored my boss was out of the office. He asked for my number and said that he would call me. Guess what! He did. We dated for a week and within the second week I was staying with him by the third week we moved in together. A year and a half later we were married and here we are still going strong. He tells people we have so many ups and downs because of meeting on the elevator.

We moved from Long Island to New Hampshire in 1982. We had our first daughter in 1984. Our second daughter was born in 1986. When I was in my 30ths, we had the best group of sick friend that you could have. We got together every weekend and had a few to many drinks. My girlfriend and I went to Martha’s Vineyard. I got so drunk because it was so hot in the hot tub. I can’t remember much. But they have blackmail pictures. So these wacky friends, we started doing for birthdays the rubber chicken. The way we did it is that on your birthday you would get a rubber chicken that resembled you. Jeff made a horrible lemon chicken dish on the hibachi. So we bought a hibachi and put the chicken on it with a bunch of lemons. One friend always was so perfect. Her hair, nails, clothes everything was just so on her. So we got a Barbie dress and dress the chicken with earrings necklace nails and this beautiful dress. Lyn loved her Barbie. So one day we kidnapped her Barbie and she was so upset. We sent ransoms notes and teased her. Well, she got it back for Christmas and has now hidden it so we can’t find it. They started this for my birthday and for some reason I got naked chicken. Still to this day I can’t figure that out. Does it have something to do with Martha’s Vineyard? My thirties were the best.

Now comes the forties and you know the rest. The fun ended and I see know one. I became sick.

My pick is going to be Hudson. I hope she will tell us her story.

Kindness is the only investment that never fails.

Ok, here goes. I grew up in Ohio and have 2 younger brothers. When I was senior in high school I decided to take an art class. The first day of art class I met an interesting person, named Bob. He had a great sense of humor and made me laugh.

But, Bob was a little "wild" for me...or so I thought. This was the 70's and I didn't care for the crowd he ran with. Anyway, at the end of senior year, we graduated and I figured that was the end of Bob. Well, one day in June, there was a knock at my door and it was Bob. Long story short, we started dating and we have bascially been together ever since. That was 30 years ago!

We live in the Chicago burbs, have 2 boys ages 20 and 25 and 2 basset hounds, named Bailey and Maggie. Maggie is a rescue dog. We have only had her for 7 weeks and she is a sweetie.

About me...I have a degree in biology. I always wanted to be a pediatrician, but got married and had kids instead. I love to cook, and travel. My ideal trip would be going to Tuscany and taking cooking classes. Guess I need to put that on my bucket list!

The biggest news in our family right now, is our older son just got engaged last weekend to a great girl! They plan to get married next summer.

Well let's see, I am the 4th of 5 children. Was the baby until my sister came along when I was 10. I have 3 older brothers. I have lived in the Pittsburgh area most of my life. I am closer to my parents now then I have ever been. They have been a great support!!

I met my husband when he came to visit our church and we dated long distance for approx 7 months and then got married. We celebrated our 22nd anniv yesterday! We have 2 great young men (can't call them boys anymore!). Derek is 19 and will be a sophomore in college this fall. He is great with computers (of course majoring in computer science and communications). He received a full scholarship for college by taking an exam at St Vincent College. He did the best on it out of 300 students. David is 17 and will be a senior this fall. He is really great playing the guitar (is even working on a cd of his own compositions). He is dating a great girl named Dawn. We have a dog, Petey, who is 16 yrs old, a cat Bailey (the queen of the house) and a ferret named comet (my husband's pet).

I am an RN and have worked critical care most of my career. I love it, but I am unable to work at this time. Can't work with fibro fog and the pain. Hoping to get back to it though! I had just changed positions in the hospital in Jan so that I could work fewer hours hoping that would help my condition, but had to stop at the end of Feb. I work with veterans. I love it!! I have heard some unbelievable stories!! My favorite is from a man who was 110 yrs old!! He had lost his sister when she was 6. Back then they kept the bodies in the house for a few days and when he woke up one day she was in his bed with him!!! How spooky!!!! She was 103 at the time of the story.

I sing in the worship team at my church (when I can make it ), I also like to sew, needlepoint, do crosswords and make jewelry. I love the Penguins! We have season hockey tickets even though I only made it to 3 games last year. We usually sell half the tickets because it's hard to get the whole family together (college, friends, work, etc)

I have had fibro probably for about 14 yrs, but got really bad this past year. i was in a terrible accident about 14 yrs ago and have chronic pain ever since. Been on medications since then, so I think the sx were hidden until last fall when I started to get bad.

I don't know what the silliest thing I have ever done is. Probably goofing around with my kids. I love popping out of different places trying to scare them. It usually doesn't work though. They are too smart for me!!! I also like to kid around with my patients (I know very professional), but I think laughter is a great healer!!

I think sweetheartsuzee should go next!!

This is fun! I'm usually a pretty reserved person, but it has been really fun getting to know all of you!!

First, thanks Debi! Nice to meet you!

Okay, so here goes for me...

I am the youngest of 3, the only girl with 2 older brothers. My mom and dad were planning on having 3 children. My mom was pregnant before 'me'...but was in a car accident, went through the windshield and lost the baby girl at about 7 1/2 months along. So, I was next as well as last! Sometimes when I think about it, it actually makes me feel guilty. Like maybe I shouldn't be here...maybe she should be. But then I go back to my favorite old saying..."Everything happens for a reason"...so I guess that's that!

I think I'll skip to High School. After moving from Western Washington to Eastern Washington in the summer between 7th and 8th grade, I went to a school with only about 15 kids in my WHOLE GRADE! WOW-WEE!

So, I tried out for cheerleader, knowing I didn't stand a chance at getting it and got it for both Football and Basketball...two years in a row. I was also in choir and played the flute in the school band. Oh, I also led the band as a majorette in the parade for a couple of years as well. THAT WAS FUN! I took welding and wood shop instead of Home-Ec! Hmmm...wonder why?! Then, I met the wrong crowd and needless to say, there was no more cheerleading! In fact, when I graduated from high school, I was pregnant with my now 18 year old daughter! DOPE! Okay, enough of that!

What's next? Ohhhhhhh....okay!!! I got married to a man with full custody of his 2 kids and raised them. And...by 'them'...I mean all THREE of them! 15 years of that and ummm...well...divorced! That was only 2 years ago. Almost to the day as a matter of fact!

I moved back to Western Washington and met my new husband (THE BEST MAN IN THE WHOLE, ENTIRE WORLD) and we were married 6 months later...yes...in Vegas!

Well, I just re-read that and it really doesn't say much so here are a few facts.

1. I'm only 5' tall.

2. I'm a spoiled little brat. By my daddy and new hubby

3. I want to buy and ride a Harley.

4. I've won several Bass fishing tournaments.

5. My fav music is What Other Than...COUNTRY!

6. My fav Country singer is Keith Urban.

7. I sing and used to be in a band!

8. My fav color is Black.

9. My family is THE most important thing to me.

10. I LOVE THIS GROUP, I LOVE THIS GROUP, I LOVE THIS GROUP!

Okay, enough about me...who's next? Ummmm...hey, this is too hard!! Ok...ready?

I pick.....CRAIG! fletch2ya...YOU ARE UP!!
