Hi Everyone,

It feels like ages since I've posted regularly. There has been so much going on here....sounds like every one has been busy too! But, then again, when does "it" every really stop??

My mom has been going through a bad flare (fibro and the RA). She has had her third infusion of Remicaid. Her rheumy is not, yet, able to tell a difference in the inflamation. However, the rheumy is "fully expecting" my mom to be able to feel a positive difference by the fifth infusion That would be awesome! Mom has been pretty discouraged, but it helped some when the rheumy reminded her that she's been a flare for a VERY long time and it's gonna take some time to begin to get it under control. Since she's been having such a rough time I've been over there 3 to 4 times a week...just doing what I can.

I am co-directing VBS this year and we're going into our final week of prep. Our kick-off will be July 12th, classes the 13th through the 17th and commencement on the 18th. (Incidentally, July 18th will my fifth wedding anniversary ) Our VBS theme this year is "Outrigger Island". Since we get to the pick an island...any island...we're trying to recreate the feel of Hawaii! There is still so much to do. Of course, we've had to wait till the week before do to the major decorating. All supplies have been ordered and received...which is pretty major!! I'll try to post some pics after VBS (*if I can figure out how to do that *)

In addition, we're looking at having to (within the next five to six months) move. Now, believe it or not, this is a GOOD thing! We currently live along side a busy highway. Our state is expanding the highway into four lanes (from the current two) with a 40 foot grass medium between the two sides, and an additional 30 foot shoulder. Final result?? The state will be buying our house.

We have known, for 7 to 8 years, that this was coming. Just didn't know exactly when. I've been pretty excited about this for that length of time. My major concern was: how is a major move going to affect my great-uncle. This was the only home he knew (for his entire adult life)...which would have been bad enough. But, he also suffered from dementia and change (any change) was a major deal for him. He has since lost his battle with the dementia.

We are looking at moving closer to my parents, given the current health situation of my Mom. DH's parents are also struggling with health issues, so we're there a good bit as well. Where ever we end up we are looking for a bit of isolation...to raise a garden and perhaps (in the future) some livestock.

**rambled a bit there, didn't I??** Anyhow, we finally heard from a DOT representative and will have an appointment sometime in the next two weeks. That person will explain how the process works. Then we'll have to go through an appraisal process. Finally, we'll begin the negotiation phase. The state is hoping to have everything finalized by the end of September. By law they only have to give us three months to vacate the property...after a deal is reached. So, we've started the search for our new home!!!

Okay, I guess that's it for now I'll probably be very, very scarce for the next couple of weeks. (That's when VBS will be over). Then I'm betting a couple days will be needed to recoup! I'm hoping, at that point, to become more active on the boards again.

You all have been in my thoughts and prayers. I've tried to keep up with what's going with folk's through the post and diary entries...just haven't had time to respond. Hugs to all

***edited to try to rename the post Ended up NOT being so brief after all!!

Wow I need to rest just reading all you have been doing.

I used to help with VBS when the girsl were little. that is enough right there to wear anyone out.

Good luck with it and I look forward to seeing the pictures.

Be wise and dignified like the swan: he maintains his composure, staying unruffled on the surface, while always paddling like crazy underneath.
