My name is Cathy and I have been looking for a forum for people with FMS for some time now. I was diagnosed in 2005 (at 48 yrs old) after a hysterectomy. I thought I just wasn't healing from the surgery but apparently the surgery had set off the chain of events that led me to where I am now. I am not even close to the same person I was before. I have gained an enormous amount of weight and no longer work. And to top it off, my list of health issues keeps growing. Only a few years ago I was thin, healthy and exercised daily. Now look at me! My primary doctor thinks I am just being a lazy slob. Sound familiar? I am so glad I can write to you all about this ridiculous disease (or whatever they call it now). I fight with myself daily about what pills I will/won't take that day...or if I feel I can leave the house and go shopping. It's just crazy. That's the only way I can describe my life now. HELP.
Rest in 'Peace and Love' my dear sister Sandy...Nov 19, 2008. I love you.

katrab, welcome to our litlle family. We all know just how you feel, the doctors can't see it, theres no blood test or lab test of an kind tht really proves what we are feeling,so we must be hysterical and making it up.

Clever of all of us to make up the same symptoms and body parts that hurt, huh? You just have to keep nagging away at them til they finally get it WE ARE IN PAIN!! Looking forward to getting to know you better.

May the sun bring you new energies by day,
May the moon softly restore you by night ,
May the rain wash away any worries you may have,
And the breeze blow new strength into your being,
And then, all the days of your life,
May you walk gently through the world, and know it’s beauty and yours.

Yes, how peculiar that we all have the same pain, in the same places, pretty much to the same degree. Gee Whiz. Now all my doc's just tell me that I'm overweight and I need to do aerobics. What? Are they kidding? I'll bet they can't even do aerobics. Thanks for the response. I love this site already.
