Ok I did some checking on the bed buddies. first the product used for the bed buddies is rice. The original product was made in maine and the inside product was cracked corn or peas. The cracked corn is the same thing they feed catle with and they used sheep skin to place the corn in which makes the heat last for 30 minutes. Compaired to the bed buddies 3 or 4 minutes. corn holds heat longer than rice does. The frozen peas are used in the same holder no matter what shape you get to use as a cold pack. These are very easy to make. If you can make a pillow case you can make one of these. I am going to make me several of different types of materials and sizes. I for sure want one out of sheep skin and those are the most expensive ones but, I just happen to have some sheepskin around the house. thanks for letting me know about these so I could find out what they were made of and how to make them. brenda |
