Hi everyone, my name is April I'm 23 and was diagnosed with Fibro 2 years ago. I know that most of you are probably wondering how I got diagnosed so young...well my mother has it too so after 3 years of going to the doctors OVER and OVER again they finally figured it out. I have a hip that pops out of place and a bad knee. I also had lots of problems with my pregnancy, preaclamcia and lots and lots of pain! I was so misserable due to the fibro and not being able to take any medication. I also had a thing called thyroiditis. It's where you get hypothyroidism but as a temporary condition due to pregnancy. It lasted 2 years! As a result of all this I gained 140lbs! I'm so depressed and misserable.

I am a Navy veteran. I was active duty for almost 5 years. I am now a stay at home mom to our 19 month old son Alex whom I love more than the whole world!! My husband is Active duty Navy still and hopes to retire from it someday.

He doesn't understand my condition at all. He says he understands I hurt, but he doesn't get that pain isn't all there is to it. I'm so tired all the time and I forget everything!! Anyway, I just wanted to introduce myself, I felt it was time i find a place to help lift me up and get me back on my feet!! I look forward to getting to know you all!

WELCOME APRIL! You've come to the right place to get understanding and a lift up when you're feeling blue...If you need a way to describe to hubby about the pain you are in as a result of Fibro, look for the Fibro letter thread, and there you go!

I'm just a bit older than you, but I was diagnosed when I was 21-22, after going through every test in the book, including that EMG one where they stick little needles in your skin to detect nerve impulses! YAY! The common symptom I share with you is a "bad" hip. There has never been anything that any doc could figure out was wrong with it and every x-ray/MRI comes back negative for fracture and arthritis levels are normal for me. I feel your pain, literally. If I walk too much, or slightly misstep during a long walk, then all the muscles around that darn "bad" hip feel as if my hip popped out of place and sprained all the muscles.

Once again, welcome to the group and you are always welcome to vent or spread cheer anytime ya like!

Hi April,

I just turned 40 and three years ago I didn't think I'd make it. Seven months after I had my son I almost died and needed two emergency surgeries. My pregnancy was horrifying and I almost lost him in the fifth month because I threw up so hard during a migraine I tore the placenta. Of course I was on bed rest and fought preterm labor for months. The weight gain was horrible and I haven't been able to lose it. My ovaries went haywire on me and I had a cyst that ruptured causing peritonitis. Six months after the two emergency surgies I had to have a hysterectomy. Stay with this support group and you will see that your abnormal life is really normal in this world.

Welcome April. You came to the right place for understanding. I've only been here a couple of weeks but it has helped a lot. I also have a husband who does't really get it. It helps so much to come here and find everyone gets it without having to explain. Look forward to hearing from you.

Welcome! I've only been here almost a week and feel better already. I'm glad there are others who go through what I do. Its wonderful to know that there is someone who is my age! It always helps to have someone who understands. My mother also suffers from fibro but I dont think she has it as severe as I do. I get where I can move my muscles in my legs and arms. Its happened twice in the span of 3 weeks. I hope to have a diagnosis soon so I can get the ball rolling on something to help me.
