Why wear a ribbon?

"I wear this Purple Ribbon to honor all of the sufferers of pain diseases around...." (Drpatty)

MDJunction to me

"All I can say is that this has been the best place ever. It has been six to seven months since I joined, and I have learned so much. I now believe in myself and accept myself on a completely different level. The people on MDJunction has been so supportive and accepting that I have been able to adopt it into my personal life. That has reduced a lot of stress in my life. Thanks to all." (bunny_fly)

Hi everyone I just found out about this group and I'm so excited. I really have no support at home so I really need to know there are others that understand.

The only problem I am having is controlling the pain. The stuff the doctors are giving me are not working. We are a small community and I'm thinking I need to go to a bigger city.

I tried the Lyrica and although it has helped many it did nothing for my pain and it only caused me allot more problems on top of the ones I already have. You should check out the side effects before going on it and making your decision. There is an old post here that has allot of the side effects of Lyrica listed in it.

If you can't find a Fibro specialist in your area I would chack into pain clinics and see which ones treat Fibro.

I hope that you find something that helps with your pain soon!

What kind of patches if you don't mind me asking?

You might want to try talking to people, the elderly are always up for conversation and they always seem to know someone who has Fibro, maybe you caould talk to someone and ask them if they can suggest a good doctor that is not afraid to help those in pain.

I know exactly what you are going through, I just finally got help for my pain after crying at every doctor visit for the past two years.

Unfortunately for me though I'm allergic to the pain medcine they put me on so now I will ahve to try to find something that works for me again and hope this time it works out for me.

Oh ok. Well I don't know anything about Lidocain patches, but I assume they don't help much.

I think I would be getting a different doctor if my pain needs were not being met or looked like they will never be met.
